Does it really matter?

I recently had my car serviced and the dealer explained something to me about the type of gas I use. I use 93 octane and only fill up with Sunoco.

Does it really matter what gas station I go to? If so, what gas station would you recommend? They told me use shell, which is pretty weird because I never thought the company made a difference.

Shell, Chevron or Mobile . We do not have 93 in SoCal (or at least is not popular) but with 91, my cars have never had any issue related to gas

What's the difference between Shell, Mobil and Sunoco?

No idea about Sunoco but Shell, Chevron and Mobile have the best quality in SoCal

I've never seen a Chevron in NY, I'll try Shell.

I remember reading a brochure from various manufacturers and it says to use top tier gas in their vehicles.

"Top Tier" is another way of saying "93 octane"?

Garage List
No, "Top Tier" are supposedly better quality gasolines with approved detergents etc.
BP is also on that list and is by far cheaper than most of the others (at least in Nassau county where I buy most of my gas).
I use the BP 93 almost exclusively. ( and the occasional dose of Techron).

Is Shell on that list?
