Sold my M6 and then....
Hi all,
So my M6 was delivered with lots of dust under the paint, had it painted by the dealer who did an awful job. It then went back to bmw uk who re-painted it from scratch but they had the car for 9 weeks!! I wrapped the car as the BMW paint was awful too. So I decided to cut my losses and by a new M50d, love the torque clearly no M6 but a different type of performance. So my dealer offered me £60k in part exchnge when my cars list price was £117k!!! BMW in my local area are giving a free 1 series if you buy an M6! So went to BMW London who gave me a hugely improved offer so did the deal. So I took delivery on Saturday and then had an email yesterday to say the garages driver had totalled my car in Central London yesterday, he destroyed the front end. I'm trying to get pics but not sure if I want to see it!! |

I don't think I can get my head around what you are saying here!
Did you not reject the M6 with the bad paint? If not, why not? |

No, had the car repaired by BMW UK as they originally offered to replace the car due to the paint, they then retracted that offer an have me a large compensation deal and repainted the car(which was still not very good). I then sol the car on Saturday as I just had enough and the dealers driver went and crashed the M6 on Monday

Well, I guess it was your decision, I'd have insisted on a full refund or a new car.
So it was the M6 that the driver crashed, I thought it was the M50d! |

+1....No way would I take a damaged repainted car ever....The car would be worth minimum of 10k less on resale instantly. Probably more

Do you have any pictures of the paint as it was originally delivered? Or could you describe it in detail? Would like to know what to watch out for on future cars...

I saw one dust under the clearcoat on the right front fender of my M6 GC. Not going to bother complaining about it, much less have it repainted.

Waiting for pics but I don't think I'll get them as the dealer knows I'm active on the forum. However I have been told the front drivers corner was hit so hard the wheel was hanging on just by the lower ball joint. If I get pics they will be posted.

This is why I'm afraid to leave my car overnight or longer than a decent waiting period. People take advantage of these things and this is the result. Hope he got some sense banged into his head, I couldn't feel bad for someone with negative intentions like that.
