Changed HRE's-- Crap Cell Phone Pics --F13 M6

I decided to switch it up and drop the P47SC's and go back to the venerable P40SC's... I say go back because my first set dates back to 2007 on my 997.1TT followed by sets on my E92 M3, 997.2TT, and CLS63TT. The look continues to make me happy. This is my 16th overall HRE set so I guess you can say I like their wheels.

Same set up as the 47's:

20x9.5
20x11
with stock tires.

Proper shoot might come

Looks good vic. 20's fit the M6 all around perfect. Depending on the style of wheels 21's can look to big and pull the attention away from the total picture and bring the focus to much to the wheels. Fitment is on point. Are you running 10mm spacers all around?

No spacers in the front--- in the rear I run 10mm spacers for this reason:

HRE can not build this wheel in offset lower than et 18 due to forging restrictions on the P SC series. I wanted et 13 so instead of putting a non hubcentric spacer (5mm) on the car I went with a built in 10mm spacer on an et 23 wheel. With the 295x30 tire I might be 1 or 2mm short but once the 305x30x20 PSS comes out in the summer Ill be set.

I agree on the 20's for form and function- I guess with a 1 piece mono the wheel looks pretty big.

Nice. Mine are et18 in back on a 11" wheel but I will be doing 305 rears as well... what's your et in front? 28?

You will be fine in the rear as you will be 5mm inward of where I sit- the 305 should help though (what model?)

Whats your front et... mine are 18 and if you are 28 you will be way too much in.

My front is 28et but I have a 10mm spacer for it. I had a set of et25 HRE's on a 9.5 width wheel before and it looked like it stuck out to much but maybe I was told the wrong et's. Yours looks good here tho so my 10mm will be perfect, I'll probably do 10mm in back too while riding the stock 295's. Waiting on super sports in 305. I believe toyo makes a good one too.. Ill do 275 front and 305 rear

Great look

I had the P40s on my E64 M6 and it was two tone black and machined. Beautiful look very clean and obvious the owner values performance, weight over flash. They are strong and should give you no problems. I never run spacers.

Peace

I never run spacers either as I get my wheels built by HRE but their forging for this design can only go as low as ET18... A P40S is not the same wheel and has a different forging so the ET's can be different. For me, ET 18 left a little too much gap in the rear as I like to push fitments to the extreme when possible.

So a bit of a different question......

I see that you owned an e92 M3. I am considering the M6 for my next car. How are the driving dynamics of the 6 vs. the 3? Does the 6 still feel agile enough or does it feel big and bloated?

Thanks.

I havent had my M3 in about 3 years but from what I can remember:

The M6 is heavier, more planted at speed but less numble in sharp turns. The M6 is much faster with an underrated 560hp at the crank vs 414 hp but speed isnt everything. The M3 is the better handler no doubt on a track but on big sweeping high speed bends and long straights the M6 will give you more confidence IMHO due to the heavier more rigid chassis and longer/wider stance. This is all very subjective to needs, wants, experience etc so this is just my 2 cents.
