If it's going to be a vert, they better find a way to hide the pillars that are clearly visible.

I'm not a fan of the immense proportions and uncharacteristically long overhangs.

That perfectly curved fastback shape makes a hardtop vert look impossible. The break lines on the roof look fake, and yeah, you can see it's hiding a B-pillar beneath the rear window.

To me, these lines are just black camo tape and the hard B Pillar gives it away as Coupe. Slightly irritating though is that the seat belts are integrated into the seats (and not coming from the B Pillar).

Yes, it does look very beautiful thus far. The more it goes, the more it seams like BMW is designing it's cars to be beautiful in "M" form.

Every other non "M" model is looking kinda Mehhh

I noticed that, too. Looks like someone had fun manipulating the photo in MSPaint. Look how big the roundel on the trunk will be, though. 6" in diameter?!?!

Over all I think this car has nice proportions and will look sick when its finished.

Those wheels look very very sweet! Best I have seen so far on the new 6.

Almost as "sick" as the BBS F1 on the new M5.

100% That is a Hardtop Convertible.
You can clearly see the lines on the roof...

I'm really torn here. Maybe leave the B pillar in place and still have a hardtop? Then again, as another poster pointed out, the design of that roof is just about impossible with a hard top convertible. Plus, it doesn't look like there's enough room in the trunk for all of that hard top "junk".

Yeah I thought I read that BMW was scrapping the M6 for a "supercar". If this is true it is indeed good news! because there is no way the coupe will have those cut lines.
Why not make the M6 your supercar?

Definitly a hardtop (for now)! The stance and massive wheel/tire combination certainly look the part of BMW M. I can't wait to see how it performs, dynamically speaking.

But why are they using 'convertible seats'?

Best regards,

To make it easier to get rear passengers in and out?

To make it easier to reach for the seat-belt in BMW like in the 'vert where it's right above your shoulder on seat?

vs.

having it way back on the B-Pillar + that stupid flimsy motorized (invitation to visit dealer on a regular schedule to fix) arm in the 3 series coupe.

butt still looks a little bangle-ish.

Looks really big in general, i hope its not bigger than the current 6 series.

Other than that it seems like it will be a good looking car.

Guys, I think we're dealing with a hard top convertible here

(I've been giggling like a little school girl for the last 45 minutes....I've been waiting for this day for 4 or 5 years now)
I'm so excited I think I wet myself. What? TMI? Alrighty then.

EXACTLY, its a coupe - some angles show theres no depth to these "creases" if you look at the shadowline trim there's no break there, its solid all the way through
