Former M3 owner checking in with an 640. The journey starts here

Well i sold my beloved LHD e46 m3 a few months ago and i was planning on waiting for the right e90 m3 to come on the market. Sadly my daily drive was hit last week and was sent to the scrap yard in the sky. This forced my hand and i had to make a call. So i bought a stunning deep sea blue 640.

The plan is to give it a deep deep deep clean and paint correction over the next few months. No massive plans for the car as it's not something i want to throw money at however on the list are.

Spacers
Slight drop 10mm
650 exhaust tips
650 rear diffusers
650 or CF rear spoiler
possibly gloss black grills all around.

I will get some better photos up soon, thanks for viewing

I recently did the same. I sold a 06 ZCP M3 and I needed a daily driver. So I brought a 640 GC.
Two completely different cars. The M can’t hold a candle to the build quality of the 6 series. At the same time, the 6 can’t hold a candle to the pure raw feel and driving enjoyment of the M.
But in all fairness, I miss that M3 everyday. But I’m not ready to give up the 640 just yet. This car just oozes sexiness.

Enjoy it brother

Completely agree. The e46 m3 had soil especially after 15k of mods :-)
I feel it's a little lifeless however we haven't bonded yet. Re map is on the cards.

Here are a few updates below thanks for the warm welcome guys

Well the i thought that the wheels where not bad on the new 6. It turns out the rear have had an average refurbishment at some point and they have never been cleaned properly. My plan was to get them as near 90% as possible and apply the adams wheel coating. However after closer inspection parts of the clear are showing early signs of failure. Also some bellend has glue on the bmw centre caps what is wrong with people.

So i just tried to clean them up as best as possible. I used fallout, clay, TFR, wheels cleaners and tar & glue. One wheel took 3 hours. Only managed to get 2 done today i will try and get the rest sorted tomorrow.

Looks like the wheels will all need a proper refurb in 6 months or so.

Garage List
Hope you got a killer deal on the car. The previous owner really trashed it.
