kong24680 and my car at local BMW CCA event. M6s don't show up often, so the car was pretty popular there.

Perfection! Does the bypass introduce drone? I have done it on some cars with excellent results and other cars with terrible drone.

Can you elaborate on what exactly you bypassed. I am about to take delivery of a MGC and plan to Maddie exhaust in some way.

Thanks for the compliment.

I don't have a lot of experience with what drone really is considered to be honest. This is my first aftermarket exhaust on a car of my own. Back in my teens with my friends import tuners is the only other reference I have.

When on the throttle it has a deep roar and when settling into a cruise at highway speeds it maintains a low rumble. I've only had it on for a few days now but have done highway drives ranging from normal 60/65 mph to 120 mph sustained for a bit and spurts of 140 mph. All throughout it's a low rumble when sustaining and a roar when accelerating. When removing foot from the accelerator to coast is where I would consider drone, but I kind of expect it there. Coasting down hills to a stop or through neighborhoods , I'm sure my neighbors love it , is where its most noticeable. Also depends on gear and speed, moving pretty quick in a lower gear and let off the gas, it's gonna drone out pretty big, kinda fun though at least for now. That's about it, haven't noticed it really on the highway as long as I'm applying some form of gas, pedal or cruise control.

Here is a photo while it was being installed. Gives an alright shot of underneath. Mufflers are gone and replaced with a resonator basically. The mechanic who put it on is a Porsche Master Mechanic and he was impressed with Soul's quality. Said the welds were better than factory and the clamps they sent were the same that Porsche uses on their GT cars. I'll try and get a video of it up here soon.

Thanks for the insight. However, I think you misunderstand what “drone” means. It is not backfire on letting off the gas. Drone is a very low frequency sound that almost can be felt as well - when at low rpms and under power or loads. In fact it gets louder and more of irritating the lower the rpm and under power. To test for drone get in gears 3-6 and get to s speed where RPM are under 2k. Then start to accelerate. Try starting with RPM’s as low as possible and note at what point the drone if any starts and then leaves.

Gotcha, only place I'm noticing anything like that is ~2k rpm 7th gear. It's only at the bottom end of it and goes away once it climbs past 2k. 4th may have a little as well but I haven't noticed it really in 5&6.

The car was delivered earlier today and I'm already hooked. I feel like I want to be driving it or staring at it every free moment I have...
Will post some better photos on the weekend after I've had a chance to polish and wax it.
