Active Sound?

Does the M6 GC have BMW's active sound feature? The one that plays artificial engine/exhaust sound through the sound system?

Yes, almost all, if not all, current BMWs do.

So the difference in tone you hear when putting the throttle setting into sport is completely artificial? That's unfortunate.

Not 'completely'. The sound is 'enhanced', you really can't tell.

Sorry you are correct I read it wrongly, it's showing a part number so it must be fitted. If it's not fitted it shows the diagram but no part number

Yes it's on my M5 as well. However, after I fitted my Akra exhaust, I disabled ASD by coding it out. You can always do the same.

I believe some of the sound difference is created from the butterfly valve opening on the second exhaust pipe on each side.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. When you put the throttle in sports or sports plus does it have any mechanical difference that changes the sound?
