Downpipes
Ok so I just put on the M-Performance exhaust on and its sound way better than stock but I was hoping for a bit more turbo sound/throttle response improvement.
So I am considering downpipes now and have been reading a ton about initial issues with AMS with rattle and bad gaskets blah blah blah. Anyhow I am contemplating the cat vs catless as well as which brand to buy, if you had your choice what would you buy and why? Thanks and Happy Holidays |

Downpipes
I have purchased downpipes from Fabspeed to my f13 M6. Downpipes are really masterpieces and include HJS 300 CELL cats. Downpipes are for ceramic coating, once they are back, i post some pictures. I expecting no CEL and additional approx. 25hp/30nm tourqe with factory software.

I ran AMS Catless on my M6. Never had any issues at all. Yes, you do get a wastegate rattle. But to my understanding you get it with all aftermarket downpipes. Members on here could correct me if I am wrong.

Undercover, Fabspeed, AMS, RPI and few others are all great quality Downpipes. Go with what you feel comfortable with and makes sense from a $ stand point.
As for rattles, there will be the waste gate rattle. That's expected and normal.

Waste gate noise and engine noise in general will be more noticeable from the removal of the catalytic convertor. Be carefull with the gaskets at the connection points. They are fragile and can damage easily. I think companies should provide the gaskets as they are cheap in cost. For brands differences they are all pretty much the same but maybe the material they are made with. Some are available with a high flow cat but ask questions on CEL issues. I have read some posts that owners are still getting CEL even with catted versions. Personally, I know people with the gt haus brand..no issues other then CEL as they are catless |
