Eh, to each their own- we aren't the only ones who don't regret the move.
Personally, I find the gts amg is a chick car- considering out here in SoCal it's a popular Orange County wife ride- but as long as you're happy, who cares what I think

True, both cars are amazing, and i8 def has that special feel to it, just not for me maybe.

i8 is probably one of the best and for that matter least cost "Look at me Car's" on the market. Design wise (exterior) they nailed it IMO and if they do some of the refinements interior wise, fuel tank wise etc... it would take it from what I see as a prototype vehicle to one ready to prime time. I'm interested to see how the i8 vert comes together. I have been there/done that with Look at me Car's - Lambo to name 1 and quite frankly got sick of people looking. That's one of the things I like about the understated M.
Speaking of the GTS.. for me it's a thrill to drive while the i8 for me was missing all of the thrill. |

Regardless- I'd just like to remind everyone, we are very fortunate individuals to be debating which 100k car we'd rather be driving. Most people, especially at our age- wouldn't even come close to dreaming of it. So like Twitch said, they all satisfy very different needs- I for one, am very happy with my choice

Not many can enjoy a $60k car let alone a $100k + car!!! There are those who can not always aspire to be able to buy $60 + and still afford food on the table and roof overhead, and/or simply settle for what they can have and afford Those of us who can buy $100 k + are very lucky to still have many choices ... But in reality we should just applaud that we are in this low population niche ... The lucky, the fortunate ones! I for one love the i8 but it doesn't work with kids ... So I will continue to drive the fossil fuel burner M6 cab, S63 Amg, and GLS 63 Amg and the token fuel efficient GLK 250 blutec ... But we are all lucky to have a choice ... Followed by the freedom to choose and the. Freedom of speech to bully others on this forem arty0030 : Just my two cents |

I'd get an i8 if it had the S63Tu in it, and could seat 4 people with legs. Or the other way of looking at it would be my dream M6 would be as it is now, with the front wheels moved far enough forward to put the front axle and electric motor there from the i8, a transaxle for the main gearbox and that'd be perfect

True, the S63Tu and supporting gearbox would make an i8 substantially heavier, around 300kg I would guess, but it would be a great car.
The S63Tu that someone already put into the i8 was at the front and with no electric drivetrain at all, now that seems pointless to me. |
