Front seat belts are annoying on M6

Anyone else get annoyed with how far back the front seat belts sit? In my s coupe, when you close the door, they move forward so they are easier to reach. Never thought about it until I bought my Benz. Now it constantly annoys me. You would think with a high end car like this they would identify this issue in the initial customer testing at BMW. In the scheme of things not a huge deal but an area they should fix moving forward. I guess if this is all I complain about we are in a good place. Lol

BMW already have this technology on the 3 coupes. Don't know why they don't have it in the 6.

Agreed! Moving from my M3 to the M6 I was surprised they didn't have the seat belt robot arm thing...

Maybe because on 3 series the seat belt is installed on pillar but in 6 series on seat! (correct me if I'm wrong about GC but on coupe it's installed on front seat)

Well, considering it was on the pillar behind the seat in my '08 M6 and I had to remind myself to rest it on a little hook on the seat every time I got out this one is a huge improvement. Whenever I forgot to rest it on the hook it felt like I had to reach for it in the back seats. Granted it's still hard to reach and the robot arm would help with this greatly, I don't feel as if it's incredibly hard anymore like it used to be.

The robot arm on the 3 series is a pile of crap, cheap plastic and often missing.. they could hardly stuck that piece of lego on the 6!

Hmm. I had zero issues with the robot arm in my M3. Always worked, never had to hook the belt on it or anything. Just worked.

Maybe it's to curb the weight on an already bloated M6?

I think this is one thing that I did get used to. Now go get in a 1 series to see what a serious reach is all about

It's funny this thread popped up. I am a pretty big dude with crazy wide shoulders. I thought the whole time that my size was the reason I had a hard time reaching the belt. Come to find out (reading this thread) that doesn't seem to be the case lol.

Don't really notice it being a problem in the GC though?

Don't have much trouble with it. Now the M4 belt location is annoyingly far back.

Me too. But once I start the engine and let out the clutch, I forget all about it.
