Can anything be done about start stop??

I have had my F12 M6 for a few months now but I am still finding this start stop feature unbearable. I do lots of short journeys - 3-10 mins - and this makes it even worse.

I took it to my dealer (UK) but they said nothing can be done about it.

Does anyone know if there is a solution to disable / start from off / start from last used?

I hate it!

I have it set to "last setting" on my car, which means if it was set to OFF before the last shutdown then it will remain off until I turn it back on. I think this is standard on 2014s. If it isn't standard on your car you could always have it coded. Anyone who offers coding services could code this feature (and many other useful ones) to your car.

Surely you go into one of the two "M" modes? Doing that deactivates the SS. I had not thought of having it programmed as "last setting" though. Sounds good to me.

Yes I do have the button, but I was hoping for a better solution.

I am interested that when you go into one of the 'M' button modes it stops doing stop start... I always use M2 for my daily driving, in that mode stop start still functions.

in the US dealers have the option to set it to last setting, BMW allows this, but it's something you may have to ask/push the dealer several times.

I have no idea what's what in the UK.

My local dealership coded start/stop button for me, it's off by default now.

I can recommend a vendor that does remote coding. He can set it to "last setting" for you as well as activate a few more features that may not be standard in your car.

That would be excellent, the only thing is that I am in the UK so not sure if they have a guy out here?

It's done remotely. They would ship a cable, if you don't already have one, to connect your computer to your car. Then they'd do the coding remotely. You just tell them what features you'd like out of a provided list and they would handle the rest. Email them at: codemycar@gmail.com

Rear view camera in motion, disabling disclaimers, blinkers in HUD, DVD in motion, are some examples of what can be done.

If you find an independent repair facility with an Autologic then can code it out for you. The factory tool does it as well. Along with other coding features available also

In the US the M6 came with last setting but now all MY14 cars have that. My Alpina had to be coded but the dealer did it for free.

The A.S.S. button can be coded to OFF or to remember its last setting.
There are also many other things of interest, TPMS data (pressure & temp) on screen, mirrors auto (un)fold on (un)lock etc. Please contact me.
