Has anybody come from the e92 M3 to the M6
How would you describe the switch and why did you go that route.....I know that they are very different coupes, just looking for opinions, thoughts and potential lessons learned. Thanks!

I've came from a e93 m3 to a F12 m6 and the question why wouldn't you. Owning a M3 to a M6 is like beer and champane. Much more power. Better interior. More class and one of the baddest grand tourer your going to get.

Switched to an M6 GC after having 2 e92 M3s. Made the switch as I loved the look (exterior lines and interior quality) and capability of the M6 GC for being a bigger car. I'm always smirking when pushing the car, thinking "no sedan should be doing this!"
The first thing I had to get used to was the size. I got used to maneuvering the M3 anyway I wanted- definitely more of a challenge in the M6 due to the length, but it's something you get used to quickly. Most importantly though, the M6 feels more powerful and straight line has ridiculous acceleration. Although, I miss the feeling of the S65 engine- the NA just feels different, very smooth and like I'm in complete control through every shift. The M6 turbos kick in after a certain RPM propelling you forward- just a different feel from the M3. Overall it's an easy transition, and I'm still amazed by how much a beast the M6 is. Would do it 100 times over again! |

I have the E93M3 and the "lowly" 650i GC. In my view they both server very different purpose. E93M3 is extremely toss-able, but the 650i GC is a very capable luxurious car. Very different and so I kept both
But then, I will be switching the E93M3 to the F83M3 real soon

I had an E93 M3 in the past also and to me the two biggest differences are the engine and the size of the M6GC. The e93 had a good engine but you really had to rev it to get any power out of it. The m6 on the other hand seems to have power everywhere. On the freeway the m6 is ridiculously fast, much faster than the last car I had a Mercedes E63 (with 6.2 NA engine) The m6 is much larger and does take some time to get adjusted. After awhile though you just adapt and the size really isn't an issue.
