Key fob not working despite new battery

I got a new battery warning on one of my keyfobs, but the warning remains despite a new battery. I checked the battery which should work. The key itself works to start the car and will allow me to lock and unlock by using the door handle. I tried bending out the contacts for the battery, but no luck so far. Any suggestions?
