Trunk / boot / deck lid slow to open

So as the temperature has dropped here in the uk over the last few days the speed of which my boot opens has slowed to the point it only opens an inch when the ambient temperature gets down to 1 degree.

Does anyone else have a similar experience? Or is this going to be another trip to the dealer?

Mine is exactly the same.

Warm weather it opens all the way and cooler weather it just 'pops' open

Completely normal
No point in visiting the dealer

Had the same issue. The dealer fixed and all is better. I suspect that maybe the original shocks (or struts) for the trunk were not up to the cold weather temp.

Always worth a visit to the dealer - especially if the car is under warranty
