Rwd car. I was quoted $1350 springs included. Of that 8 hours is labor, $ 335 for HR springs and $150 for the alignment. This is from a very reputable shop just trying to make sure I'm not overpaying .
Thanks for the quick replies. |

Thanks for replies. I thought the quote felt high so confirmation is nice. I'm really don't feel like doing it myself. Ive done it in the past on other cars and really don't want to do it again. Anyone in the Atlanta area know of a decent shop?

Also in the Atlanta area and wanted to see if you were able to drop your car. I have a 650 cabriolet and wanted to do the same but don't know of a good place. Ive changed springs on cars before but am hesitant on this car. Does anyone know of a diy for this?

if you've done them on other cars, its the 5/6 is super easy. the fronts is only the edc plug, sway bar link bolt/nut and the bolt and nut for the bottom part of the strut, then the 3 nuts on top under the hood for the strut mount. I got the fronts out really quick. never did the rears on a cab, but I wouldl assume all you need to do is raise/lower your top so that the panel opens and the 3 strut mount nuts should be right there. on the coupes and gran coupes, its requires partially disassembling the rear deck side pillars to gain access. the rear strut is only held on by one long bolt, you will need an air compressor, impact gun and some extensions, swivel adapter and just zap the one bolt on the bottom out. 3 bolts on top, the edc plug and it'll come out. I spent most of the time on my gc, on the rear deck to gain access to the top 3 nuts, than I did actually to free the struts/springs from the car.

For all that hassle and $$$, leave it alone.
