BPM sport Stage 1 tune on M6

hey guys, I had the pleasure of meeting Mike @ BPM sport down in Socal. My car is stock and I'm pretty happy with the comp pack exhaust, so I was primarily interested in the stage 1 tune. Mike got all the info he needed from me and we decided that keeping it around 650bhp at crank was advisable with the stock clutch setup. I brought my car over and let him tinker with it overnight, along with some other coding, and the next day got it back.

I can't believe what a difference this tune has made; stock it was very fast, but post-tune, it is unbelievable. It is supercar fast! I still haven't had many opportunities to really feel the powerband because its just not possible on the roads that I frequent. Its scary to feel the powerband from 4k onwards. I've only been able to pin it in 3rd from 4k onwards and even then TC was going bonkers!

What a difference! And its tremendous that the top speed limiter has been lifted, after all, whats the point of a 650bhp car if its limited to 155mph!?

The crazy part is that with that much power on tap, the everyday drivability has NOT changed at all! My next goal is to upgrade the clutch so it can handle more power, and go for a stage 2 tune with high flow cats. For now, I'm just going to TRY and get used to the Stage 1 tune, its ridiculous how fast this thing shifts with it's heft! And this coming from a person that tracks literbikes! It is genuinely motorcycle fast after this tune!

Dealing with Mike and BPM sport has been such a genuine pleasure, I can't believe that the level of sophistication that they have in their coding. Very cool that we have a group of enthusiats that make the driving pleasure for us owners that much better! Just wanted to share my personal experience and to let you know that if you're on the fence about this tune, don't wait any longer!

Just wait till you get the stage II tune....you will be like a little kid at heart again

+1 with Mike and BPM. He has just as good support even for me in Florida with his remote tuning capabilities. You made a good choice for the tune!

I'm on the fence! Did you get the optional M mode enhancement? If yes, how is the drivability vs stock? Did Mike make some tweaks to get it to 650bhp? He mentioned around 630-640 for stage 1 with BMS intake on 93 octane. I'm not expecting more hp with that intake. Also, he mentioned to expect 600 to low 600 torque.

This was considered optional. "Selective mapping of throttle response in Normal and Sport modes." Sorry, I generalized it as M mode which specifically should be for the engine mapping button.

I did have Mike do the coding, including the European MDM mode traction control spec. It allows more slip angle and less nannying than the US spec according to him. In our discussion Mike said he can make my tune as aggressive as I want, and its supposed to be somewhere around 650-680bhp according to him.

Will know for sure once I do a proper dyno! For now, I am just getting used to this insane power delivery from mid range onwards!

Only one way to run the car and that's with DSC off!

if I get bootmod3, can I upload the bpm tune by OBD2 port? I don't want to send my ecu out and bootmod3 installers are by my house.

If they read out your ECU and send the file to us, we can patch the software for OBD support and send it back to them immediately to load back in. Then we can OBD flash it no problem.
