250%, that's not the crazy part, good luck getting a license to drive your car on the road, sometimes they auction the license for up to 1 million.

Import car have to pay imports of consumption tax rate(tariff tax; VAT; Consumption tax) is about 143.7%(> 4.0 L models), Fortunately that price is already include imports of consumption tax, but that isnt all tax and fee u have to pay, when u register the vehicle license, u need pay 10% more purchase tax(ie: 650 gran coupe have to pay RMB200,000 about US$31,636 ), and Conventional insurance, Transporter using tax; Road maintenance fee; Registration fees; Traffic Accident Liability Mandatory insurance........etc

Is the basic spec generous? Are things such as B&O standard?

Its not surprising at least for ppl in Turkey, 650i coupe is 196.000 € here, and assuming new GC will be more expensive than 6 series coupe + cabrio, we might expect new 650i GC around 220.000 € (even more than M5) I think...

New M5 is 210.000 € , it climbs up to 260.000 € with some nice options, so it gives you an idea how much can a 650i GC cost here in Turkey !!

Crazy , isnt it?

Sure if we had those cheap prices here , everyone would drive either Maserati or Ferrari here , for sure

yes i totally agree. here in turkey nearly all the bmw 3 series that are sold are either 316i's or 320d's. The government issues a lot of tax, which makes you buy a cheaper car for the money you have. For example, my friend bought the 520d instead of a 550i because of the turkish variation of the gas guzzler tax. Basically in here they charge 3 different taxes; VAT,Tax depending on engine block size and "Personal Vehicle Tax". apparently BMW had low sales after the raise on the PTVFamily Guy

On the end of the first opening public day of the Beijing Autoshow BMW China took orders for eighteen 6er Gran Coupe's.
I do not know the final count taken by the time the show had closed.

The M6 Coupe also took a considerable order bank.

Yes that is correct. They did take deposits as the allocation for 2012 tends to fill up very rapidly, a trend with BMW M. products in China.

Just commenting on the prices for luxury car segments in China.

There are probably thousands of billionaires in China these days .. that's why Audi makes it their priority to focus their car sales there. Other car makers are simply following suits.

Besides, to these billionaires, it is a status symbol. They can afford to change cars every day for their rest of their lives.
