cover/paint/decorate silver shift pedestal

Anyone paint or cover the silver shift pedestal. Seems out of place in the carbon fiber trim

Black Trim?

I would be concerned that the carbon trim would clash with the existing trim. That is why I am thinking black.

I have also searched to see if anyone has done anything about this trim. Didn't know it came black from factory.

Would love to see pics of wrapped or painted trim.
