Quad tips for the 640i GC
Hi all, after doing ED in February I'm finally picking up my car next Friday at Spartanburg! I'm quite happy with the car as it is and as far as exterior goes I'm only planning on maybe replacing my 373s for the 343s, but what I will definitely try to do asap is to get quad exhaust tips.
I'm only interested on the quad tips, so no additional modifications to the exhaust system, etc. Said so, how did that mod work out for the fellow members who have done it? what are the available options for the diffuser: the one from the 650i or trimming the factory one in my car? and how about the quad tips any preferred brands/suppliers that you can recommend? If you have done this please post pics if possible Thanks! |

I want to do the same to my 640i GC , is in transit now expected April 21. I just want the quad tips, is it a simple install? do they bolt on or some cutting/welding is required? |

All the work was and is being done be ONEighty in NYC. M6 kidney grille, M6 trunk spoiler, M6 diffuser and dual exhaust tips, powder coated wheels with front and rear 15mm spacers, painted chrome pieces(fender and door handle), painted white front bumper side reflector.

Looks awesome already!
About the M6 diffuser: I thought some extra work was needed when installing it to the 640 GC. When you have it installed, please provide details if some re-positioning of the tips or bending was required. Good luck with the install! Quote:

You can order the black grills without the M logo from BMW, there are about $150. There is another reseller that has them as well for $140. I plan on murdering out (all black everything) my GC very soon.

What a difference! looks really good! thanks for posting. Where did you get the parts?
Would it be possible for you to take and post some pictures from the side and also closer with flash maybe to see what yo have in the center of the diffuser...is it the carbon fiber piece? |

Parts I got from ONEighty guys. They did the work too.
I will take some pictures when is nice out. It's raining right now. The middle black part of the diffuser is not carbon fiber. It's an oem part of M6 diffuser and its a black plastic. Last edited by Glina; 04-07-2014 at 06:55 PM.. |

Looks really nice. Regarding the parts for the rear diffuser swap, do you have a list?
I just bought an OEM M6 diffuser but it looks like I need an additional part. Going to run a Miestershaft valved quad on it. Our cars look very similar. I have an F06 640i GC in AW with similar mods. I can't decide if I am going to paint the diffuser black or color match it. The roof is getting wrapped in gloss black vinyl this week. |

Link has the M6 style double bar grille w/o the ///M6 logo plate on them. IMO the best looking grille of all the OEM looks. Available in matte black, gloss, and CF. You could make it look OEM by using the stock front grill piece as they split in half. Just put them on my car, can take a picture if you want. http://www.autotecknic.com/category_s/143.htm |

They got me those parts cheaper than Get BMW Parts.COM. I know that you got GC but when you buy that middle part for your diffuser get the one that is made for M6 Coupe. Dont get the on that is made for M6. That middle OEM piece for GC M6 is made out of Carbon Fiber and is about $1200. For that price you can get M performance one for M6 in CF. Middle black piece for Coupe is made of plastic and is about $80. Good luck. I want to see yours four door twin when is done. |

Call ONEighty. I got those tips from them. You will need different tips on 650 because you have two pipes coming out of each muffler and I don't know if they are 2.25mm each or 2.5mm. I have one 2.5 mm pipe coming out of each muffler. Last edited by Glina; 04-08-2014 at 02:59 PM.. |
