The wife and kids have a new beast, but it's not a BMW...
Well, after lots of back and forth with the wife, she decided she did not want the new X5. I tried my hardest to sell her on staying with the brand, but she put up a huge fight, so I finally gave up. This would have been our 3rd X5, but she did not like how the new one looked, nor did she care for all the mechanical and electrical issues she has gone through with both X5's over the last 6 years. I even tried to convince her I would upgrade her from the 50i (which we currently have) to the new X5M which gets released in Jen/Feb, but she wasn't having it. So, last week I finalized the deal and was able to get this baby for her. I had specific options I wanted on this car and it turned out this was the only one left in the country that was spec'ed out the exact way I wanted it -- I got really lucky. It's coming from a dealer in California and should arrive next week. Some mods/upgrades are planned, so it will hit my body shop immediately following delivery. These are the pix from the dealers site -- I'll take better ones, once all the work is done. I wasn't really that excited about leaving BMW, but now that the deal is done and I look at more of these online, it's definitely growing on me.

Congrats my wife is exactly the same and frankly speaking I think the cayenne is a great all around package. Its been in our stable for the longest of any car I have ever owned.

IMO, an upper-echelon Cayenne features one of Porche's best interiors, and these pictures illustrate that. I concur with you however, and in this price-range, from a value and performance standpoint, X5/6 M all day long. There are some really cool body kits that will be available for the new X5, so your wife's criticisms about the new geometry of the X5 could be easily nullified with a few exterior tweaks. IMO, a fully-kitted X5/6 is superior in looks to a fully-kitted Cayenne.

The 2015 comes out in a month and is completely refreshed (LCI model). The Cayenne S has a new Twin Turbo V6. Just wondering why you didnt wait for that? Not hating at all I love the GTS just wondering.

The GTS model for 2015 won't be out for at least another year or two. They don't do the GTS's right away. If you look at their site, they don't even offer the GTS model when trying to "build your own". They had it on a few months ago, but that was for the 2014's, but recently removed it from their site, now that the 15's are coming out. I've been all over 6speedonline doing research and would have waited had it been a few months, but the reality is, it will be a year or two at least.
