I am on my second individual order, and this one is much easier than the first time around. I don't know if I am just 2.5 years older and more patient, or just know what to expect now. But I have barely talked to by CA since placing the order a month ago.
That being said, I am on these forums way too much. |

It is in my garage!!!!
Still in the process of getting the mods put on... Unfortunately I won't be able to get a Dinan tune until they have one for an M6 with an electronic wastegate. This car is a beast!! I have pushed it just a little and it is scary fast... Can't wait to see what it does after break-in. CA told me don't take it over 4K RPM and 90 mph. Is that a fact? I'll post some more pics today. SO far I had the front spoiler and rear diffuser Vorsteiner pieces put on. The new i-drive screen is AMAZING!!! Looks like you have a flat screen computer right in the car!! It's going to take me a good week to figure out all the options on the i-drive lol

Lol did you figure out any other differences? How do you like the exterior LCI/new HUD? Also is the ambient interior color interchangeable? Hahahah sorry I'm asking so many questions- im really curious and want mine already too! That idrive sounds SWEET. I heard the screens bigger than preLCI.

I want to know about this too, from the last BMW press release it makes it seem like the car should be driven hard from day 1.

Being this is my first M6 i might miss some of the LCI changes lol Random thoughts: Just found out that you have to manually move the wipers up in order to raise the blades or they will get caught underneath the hood.... Also a change to the 650i I had, there is no metal under the hood, it is all high grade plastic... I was able to download all my MP3s from my MP3 player to the car's harddrive!! I didn't see any way to change the color of the ambient light. The HUD looks great!! I can change the position, tilt and brightness in the idrive. After looking at the headlights again, they (in my opinion) look alot more aggresive than the previous version. Not sure if the earlier M6 had one, but this has a heat sink for the LED lights, also 2 x motors per light. I'll be happy to answer any more questions you have! I attached a picture of the engine with the CF engine cover mod. Not sure what internal components were changed for 2016.

Everyone has been AMAZED at the car's design. I haven't had it in my possession long enough to get reactions from random people yet though. Below is a picture with the front spoiler mounted and the vorsteiner rear diffuser (notice the vanity plate lol). Getting the rest of the mods installed on Wednesday.

I just showed my friends your car- they too are all amazed by how aggressive little details make the car look in a much better way. (they also send their congratulations your way.)
Safe to say this brutal wait will be well worth the wait!

Can you post some pics of the idrive screen when you get a chance, also maybe showing the rear view camera on it?
I just picked up an x5 and the screen is much more crisp than what I had on my 2013 6 series. I am wondering if they updated the screen on the 6 for 2016. |

On my standard options when i check my order online- it does say under comfort and convenience "ambiance interior lighting" could that be it? Only person who can get into their idrive and look for it right now would be kris1858 I really hope so/ I saw a YouTube video of how you can change it from standard to blue to red in the x5m. Looks really nice

I think that was the same option listed on the old ones too, just hoping they give us ability to change colors too.
I didn't think I would be too overly impressed with the x5, but the idrive updates and lighting updates are actually really nice. |
