M6 Owners plz chime in

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...95678864&Log=0

Saw this ad and it peaked my interest...I defer to m6 owner expertise to weigh in...why is this a bad idea?? Seller claims it was all cosmetic(front bumper cover, hood, and driver fender/door replaced). Possesses all documentation to support his claim.

Well...because it's a salvage title and he will say anything to get rid of the car.

I agree, 61k? buy a new m3/m4 instead if its the price range you can afford. it beats having a salvage title m6 anyday.

thats my 2 cents.

Cosmetic damage is not considered salvage title. This car has more than cosmetic damage for sure

Right. BMW won't salvage a car and take a loss for cosmetic damage.

It's also a huge risk, financially, aside from the initial cost of the vehicle. A more likely scenario is that after 8 months ownership, the second owner decided to pass along the true cost of repairs. Any issue with this car will be prohibitive.

For the same amount, you can get a new M4 with a warranty.

All valid points...this individual was able to show me the damages though. It all really looked legit. But its def not worth the risk. Just wanted some input from folks who have first hand knowledge of this vehicle...As for the M4 I honestly prefer the power and looks of the M6..thanks again...

Skip, the headaches. Buy the best car you can afford. It will have a warranty and trade in resale value.

Salvage title ( if it was wrecked ) means damage to repair at the time was more than 75% of the value of the car (sometimes higher is some states). Salvage can also mean theft recovery and resold by insurance co, flood damage, etc.

But salvage title will always be on the history of that car. Usually banks won't even loan on it.

I'd move on - no need to risk it with the amount of money involved. Get exactly what you want with a clean title - and at the best price possible.

Maybe sometimes it's better to avoid the cheapest priced vehicle for peace of mind lol.

Unless money isn't an issue for you where you can risk not only the 60K, but thousands more on repair alone, I echo everyone's sentiments. Not worth it.

everyone is worrying about the financial risk how about safety, lets be honest this is an m6 and at some point the car will be driven at tripple digit speeds, i would not wanna drive that fast with any potential damage to a car.

You are $15-20k from owning a clean titled M6. I would buck up and get a clean title.

Completely agree. I really considered getting the M4. My biggest issue is road presence. The M6 has a presence on the road that the M4 just doesn't offer.
