Blower motor regulator

Hi,
My air-con/heater blower motor has a mind of its own.
After a little research, I've traced it down to the blower motor regulator being faulty. I've bought a new regulator but does anyone know how to replace it please?

Thanks

What was the issue you were having and how did you determine the cause? Just 2 days ago, my AC fan randomly slows down and turns off, then a few minutes later turns back on.

That is the exact issue I've been having. I also had this issue with my E46, and that was a faulty blower regulator.
The fact that everything is working, but it just has a "mind of its own" is because it can't regulate the temperature.
I'm not a mechanic by the way. Just diagnosing from experience.

Take a look at RealOem. You need to get to the blower motor housing.

I did this a few months ago, and replaced the fan while I was in there.

It took 33 minutes from start to finish, but I had some experience in that area of the car.

It is the same procedure as doing it on a 5 series, and there is a decent Youtube vid showing the basic procedure:

A massive thanks to you. I did this today. As you said, took about half hour. No noise from the motor and it doesn't have a mind of its own.

However, now that it's working properly, I've noticed that the air through the vents is not blowing very hard.

Any ideas please?

Thanks again

Check the dial between the front vents. It will slow down the airflow to the dash vents based on the temperature if you have it set to warm/cold compared to set temp. Also, if on auto it will adjust itself.
