I am faced with the same delima and I am probably going to order a 640 GC. I had driven a 540 and a 645 prior to my current 535 X-drive. The only thing I miss about a V8 is the low end torque. I feel no lack of power for daily driving my 535 and the 640 test drive was similar.

I'm going this weekend to test drive the 640 and make a final decision. I'm leaning toward the 640. I just can't imagine dealing with the oil "top off" issues. That would drive me crazy every 2-3K miles. We'll see.....

The only reason for me to take the 650 would be the sound...on all other areas I think that the 640i is the better decision....

Finally drove the 640i. It is plenty engine for me. Reminds me of the 2008 550i performance. I'm working on a deal for a 2014 640 M Sport. Trying to get the best deal for my used Jag. Matter of time. Thanks for your insights.

Congratulations, it is a fantastic car.

One question, is yours coming with the electric sunshades in the rear doors?

Not sure... The specs say "power rear sunshade" and "rear sunshades". My guess would be that the back window shade is powered and the back shades on the rear seat windows are manual. I will let you know when I get the car. I didn't ask for specifics on that.

My rear sides and back window sunshades are all powered. I think it comes with powered only.

Wow! That Moonstone color is beautiful. I wanted the Singapore Grey but didn't want to wait for it or spend the extra 5k. They had a silver M Sport on the dock in Germany built out the way i wanted it and I could get it in 3 weeks. So, i jumped on it. Definitely post pics of the car in that color.

Nice choice Man. I just drove my friend's 640 the past weekend. It is very nice car. Yes it is slower than my 650GC no matter at low speed or highway cruising speed. However, I felt it is far more responsive than 535 and my past x6 3.5.
Definitely fast enough to have fun sometimes. (wonder can it beat A7 or not? LOL )
BTW, you don't need to worry about the oil issues, My 650GC is just 6300km now, but just had 3rd time oil top off.

I haven't pushed it much yet but it does feel more responsive and smoother than my 2011 535i.
