Excellent combo. Congrats. That blue is awesome.
I ordered Silverstone interior for the M4, just wondering what products or how you will keep your interior clean?

You have stolen my car! We must have the only M6's in this combo in the UK....I'm sure Richard will be along to confirm shortly

Now get those leather seats sealed ASAP!

I have found Dr Leather Protector to be very effective against blue jeans dye transfer in particular...and if it can fend off that, it'll fend off most things. I think the OP has another product in mind so will be interesting to see how he gets on!

Whatever, in my experience the white or light grey/cream interiors must have some robust protection otherwise they can look a mess very quickly.

Yep, sorry! Although mine isn't CP so they are still distinct.

I've sealed with two coats of Leather Master Leather Barrier which is highly recommended by an expert on the M5 forum.

Unfortunately the car was delivered with a couple of small bits of damage to the leather that the dealer is sorting- demonstrates the fragility of the merino leather. I am very happy with my choice but not sure I'd be brave enough to do it again!

It is incredibly fragile, I've never known an interior like it. I briefly had another F13 M6 before this one and that had Silverstone leather, which seamed a little more durable. Like you, I don't think I'd do it again but it does look outstanding - everyone comments on the interior.

Like me, you'll no doubt dread taking it into the dealer - when you do, make sure they confirm the condition when you drop it off as I guarantee it will have marks when you collect it. Thankfully, despite this happening very single time I take my car in, those times have been infrequent and the marks have wiped off.

Pay particular close attention to the high points of the leather on the base and lower backrest - they're the slightly raised sections of leather towards the edges which take the most pressure (so soak up the most dye) and need regular but very gentle cleaning (don't use too much pressure). On my car, the leather has started to wear away on both front seats on these high points - it's only about 1cm of wear on each seat, but as the leather underneath the white coating is darker, it stands out. BMW are replacing the base and backrests of both my front seats.

I don't have all the stats for the F13 yet, but it's quite likely that there are only 2 with that colour combo in the UK.

If you could let me know the first 4 of the last 7 digits of the VIN it would help me get the stats. The VIN block used for RHD F13s changed on 12th Feb and I don't have the details of any cars built from then on.

Hi, thats a great looking Car, I don't know why that particular interior suffers so much.
I have had Silverstone ( which is light in colour) in many BMW's and never had one problem.

Let us know how you get on with the car in general.

Have you had Silverstone Nappa or Marino leather John? The Marino used with the full leather option on the M6 (and I think M5 too) is quite a lot softer and more delicate than the Nappa. I suspect the combination of white and Marino is what is making this so fragile.

It does look stunning though!

Thanks all! I'm in Berlin for a conference and miss looking at it already, keep coming back to this thread to see the pics! Ha!

It's definitely the Merino that makes it fragile. It is a sheep leather, not cow, thinner to start with and completely untreated other than the colouring. Recipe for disaster... but looks and feels sooo good!

I will update on how I get on with the Leather Master products.

Palmnuts, are you able to post pics of the wear you experienced and how much of a struggle was it to make a warranty claim?

I'm equally worried about dropping it off for services

Never had a problem, but my kids are adults now and don't travel with us much.

congratulations, very envious of the full leather! no sun pro? my Silverstone interior has been treated with Gtechniq….so far so good, but my Wife's X6 with Ivory dakota leather is awful with dye transfer. I will have to buy some Dr Leather or Leather master cheers for the advice

Love San Marino so much. - That interior is EPIC but I have found out from experience it will be hard to keep clean.

Just realised that the pictures have come out pretty soft, I uploaded them with the iPad app, looks like that was a mistake!

Stunning colour combination....I had similar on my F10 M5 but like you say about the seats they get 'dirty' very quickly without a sealant. After 8000 miles you could see my drivers seat looking a bit dyed from my trousers...

I agree with these statements. I also have the opal white interior. While lovely to look at, it absorbs dyes very quickly. The thigh support on the seat cushion as well as the side bolsters on the seat back take the most stains. In fact, the side bolsters on mine have started to wear out from the constant cleaning. Very annoying.
