Does anyone know what highest octane fuel you can safely run on a stock s63tu engine .

Where I'm going with this is if I get a tune to run race fuel 104 octane or mix with 93 octane or even do meth injection. At what point can the engine internals take before breaking and I would probably think I would have to go with cat less down pipes to release hotter hotter exhaust gases or for sure go into limp mode. I'm just curious with reliability of stock internals.

fuel octane won't hurt the engine unless you went too low, too high will just make it run like crap. 100octane is plenty for any tune out for this car right now, no need for anything else yet. 100octane is plenty even at 28psi and only the super aggressive guys are willing to push that far, most tunes are under 24

That sounds good to me then, looking at doing jb4 with meth injection to go along with my MSR charge pipes and cat less downpipes
Thanks, |

i have bms stage 1 and i run it +4 on pump 93 with no issues other than a misfire that was fixed by gapping plugs. Went to a roll race event and i ran plus 5 with no problems at all on vp100

Did you buy the vp100 at the pump or did you have order some from a distributor? I have a vp station that is about 15 miles away but never been to see if it can be purchased

I have been doing a little bit of researching and the cooling effect that you also get from meth/water injection just seems like to me that is a plus for your engine, also seen a few articles that show BMW could be offering this in the future as factory option.

That's partially why I want the bms aren't you able to tune for race gas, pump gas and meth, and haven't these meth kits advanced to have fail safes. I only drive the m6 in nice days that I want to go for a cruise on.

A meth setup is for a hardcore guy that wants to go out and race his car and deal with some issues from time to time. Doesn't seem like thats how you will use your car. The bms stage 1 can do all three of the things you just asked for. Keep in mind with an exhaust and charcoal delete you can make north of 630whp +4 with the bms stage 1, thats over 700 at the crank! If you go fully max on race fuel your car will be north of about 660whp when need be. With all that you really think you need to add meth for a weekend cruise?? Also the power does come with traction sacrifice , on street tires my car is probably slower under 80mph or so, it doesn't dead hook until 4th. 1st and 2nd is useless now lol.....

You are correct in that I'm not that hard core anymore! Maybe back in the day. I have already done the filter delete and upgraded k&n also. BMS JB4 is now available and some catless down pipes along with race fuel should be good for me now, maybe later maybe not with the meth kit we'll see later if anymore advances are made in this area on this car, and thanks for the feedback.

I'm a Towboat Pilot for Marathon Petroleum Company on the Mississippi and Ohio rivers pushing barges of crude oil , the tow I push usually consist of 6 oversized barges each 300'x54' equaling 900'L x 108'W then add the m/v Ohio Valley 150' L x 45' W it is powered by 2 Caterpillar C280's producing a total of 5000 HP. Probably not the type of Pilot you were expecting.
