m6 mufflers on a 650i msport vs aftermarket

I want to change my Msport mufflers to something a little more aggressive I'm undecided on which one to get and I see on here guys selling m6 g.c mufflers to guys with 650s ..So how good do m6 mufflers sound on our cars compared to the Msport mufflers from factory or am I better saving $$ and just get and aftermarket one?

I have one on my 640GC. With the valves closed it sounds almost like your stock mufflers. With the outer valves open, it sounds good but does have drone. That's why M6/M5's have valve control. For a 650 you can get an exhaustmeister and control the valves by remote similar to the Meisterschaft ones. Any exhaust with all tips open all the time will have drone. Some people don't mind it but I can't stand it on my car.

i got m6 competition mufflers and i think they sound pretty darn awesome. startup is loud and mean, though not quite befitting a stock 6GC. i've always heard about drone with poorly matched exhausts, though never heard an actual terrible example.

that said, at cruising speeds with rpms just over 1000, i don't really hear it. let fly and you know its not the regular m-sport muffler. zero regrets

Coming from the 550xi, my 650xi GC sounds much meaner. Same engine, but it's obviously a very different exhaust. I also believe there's some artificial sound being pumped into the cabin. I know they do this on all the M cars now, but I hadn't heard of it being done on others... but I just feel like there's a twinge of it. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Personally, I'm really happy with the stock M-Sport exhaust. It's much more aggressive than a normal sedan (e.g. my previous 550xi), but it's not too aggressive to cause stares or become droning. I like that the GC is sporty, but I don't want mine to sound too loud - still want it to be a comfortable place to cruise long distances and coast through town centers when need be.

sorry to bump an older thread, but have a similar question.

My 650i MSport exhaust sounds surprisingly good. But it's only in Sport Mode, Sport shifting that I like it. In my F10 550i I had M5 competition exhaust mufflers and that too sounded really good. No drone, quiet, but loud when opened up in any mode, but not the loud rattle I like from the 650i MSport when shifting.

I have the M5 competition mufflers and was thinking about installing. Would love to hear a M6 comp or M5 comp on a 650i to see if it's worth the hassle. Any clips from anyone here? Thanks in advance
