Seat Memory Position Question
Hopefully some of you guys can shed some light on this for me... I have my seats programmed (Memory 1 and 2). When I want to put the seat into the Memory 2 position I literally have to stand there bent over pressing "2".
There has to be some way that I can just depress "2" and the seat moves into position (without me holding down "2"). Am I missing something here? Am I having a meathead dumbass moment? Brian

I think it has to do with the key you are using at the time it will go to seat and radio settings that are for each key. I have to hold the button as well not just touch in my caddy it doesn't make sence

I've not tried yet with the M6, because it's only me that ever drives it so I don't need the memory feature, but in the E39 you can press the button briefly if the door is open. If the door is shut you have to press and hold - supposedly a safety measure to prevent you getting trapped in the car if the memory position was set to fully forwards.

I use the memory setting for the passenger seat. Position 1 is for when only one person is riding with me. Position 2 is for when I have my little boy in the back (gives him some leg room).
There are so many awesome features I have found on this car and to think you have to hold the friggin' button to put the seat in a memory position is disappointing -- someone had their head up their hole when designing this functionality. Brian

My software was recently wiped by BMW, so I actually had mine just recoded. There are many memory functions that can be tailored (climate control, electronics/NAV, etc.) but this is not one of them (at least at the moment).

As I suspected, if the door is open, a single short press on the memory button will cause the seat to move all the way to the position. If the door is closed, you need to press and hold. At least that's how it works on my UK car.
