I tried blocking the rubber pipe but the flaps remained closed!
From the technical drawing, the actuator is right on the exhaust. If you can unhook it and zip tie the link/arm that control the flap, then that should do the trick. However, I think the flap does more than just the sound but also control the back pressure. If you keep it open all the time the torque might be affected a bit. Probably not too bad since it got a lot to spare to begin with. I will try to look into it next weekend unless you get it working and wanna share some photos before that.

Hi nwills, check out photos I uploaded. That is how I keep flaps open. It sounds like a proper V8 now.

Looks easy enough. Will try it out this weekend. Let you know how it goes.

The zip tie method worked perfectly. Thanks to Summer78. The small hole in the mounting arm made it possible.

That's what I was concerned with too. It does not come in direct contact with the exhaust but I suppose heat may still transfer via the control arm. Time will tell.

I was thinking about that too, but that is what I happen to have lying around. If it breaks, then I will replace it with metal tie.

I prefer Meisterchaft b/c I like EV control feature. Eisenmann is great too. It depends on your taste, so it is best to check them out in person before committing to one.

I also did the mod tonight! I did not have the m sport exhaust but still sounded very good. However, I noticed a very tiny bit of droning at idle after the mod.....

Neversummer78 and Andreo,

My 650i GC also felt a tad more responsive with the mod. My friend who test drove the car last night also mentioned the same and asked what I did (I didn't tell him the mod).

Did you guys feel your 650i a bit more eager to go and more responsive after the mod? Or am I and my friend just hallucinating........
