Just a quick update ... I put in an offer, and managed to work out a deal on Vehicle #1.

But right before I was about to provide a deposit, I asked to get an updated copy of the CarProof document.

The updated copy says "Previous Use: Fleet" (for a 3 months period). I can't get any more details other than the fact that this could have been purchased as part of a corporate fleet of cars, or it could have been used for rental purposes.

Does anyone care to comment on A) what is the most likely reason for this indication, and B) will it affect the value of the vehicle? And if so, by a little, or a lot?

I'm just worried that when I go to resell, the next owner will have questions and it may scare them off.

Just a follow up my own post ...

It looks to be that the CarProof information is a bit erroneous. Not only was there no fleet usage (I saw a full printout from UCDA), but the ownership dates they had in the file were wrong.

Makes me wonder how accurate the rest of their data is.

Anyways, deal is done!

Thanks for all the help everyone who chimed in and/or PM'd me.

Vehicle 1 - $98,000 CAD
- 2014 Model Year
- Pure Metal Silver exterior (individual)
- Silverstone/Black two-tone Full Merino interior (individual)
- Executive Package
- Driver Assistance Package
- Carbon Ceramic Brakes
- B&O Sound System
- 22,000 kms (14,000 miles)
- Minimal service records

Vehicle 2 - $93,000 CAD
- 2014 Model Year
- San Marino Blue exterior
- Opal White Full Merino interior
- Executive Package
- Driver Assistance Package
- 34,000 kms (21,000 miles)
- Brand new MPSS tires
- Full service records

Vehicle 2 is out of province and would require flight + hotel to inspect/drive the vehicle. Both are at BMW dealerships.

Vehicle 1 is a local care with some nice additional options and is a special "launch edition" car. It is more costly and only has a regular warranty. They won't let me do an off-site PPI though, so that has me a bit worried.

I only plan to use this vehicle for 18 - 24 months, but that would mean the warranty of Vehicle 1 might expire at the end of my ownership. But I could decide to purchase an extended warranty in the future.

I have no colour preference one way or the other (I like them equally both).

Is B&O and CCB worth it for the extra cash?

The local dealer has been more difficult to deal with and the out of province dealer is providing me with a better overall feeling.

Any comments on which is the better option would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ian
Ceramic brakes and B&O are like $23k in options I think. You only save $8k. It's not like you can decide to get it later. I highly recommend option 1.

dude, no brainer...

Car 1. Especially if you're not keeping it over 4-years.

-pure metal silver, good luck seeing one in person, let alone owning one
-CCB, a rare option

Sorry if I wasn't clear in one of my previous posts, but I have already purchased Vehicle #1.

I agree as some posters have pointed out that the colour is rare (and one I have been looking to see in person myself), and the addition of CCB, B&O and full individual leather makes this a special car.

I managed to get the CPO warranty as well, so I don't have to worry about anything for the next few years. These are not cheap machines to fix out of warranty.

I am hoping to pickup the car this weekend.

I picked up the vehicle on Saturday. Everything was fairly straightforward at the dealership. I got the windows done with a 40% tint, but am thinking that 35% would have been closer to what I was looking for though.

On the way home, however, I was actually a little bit disappointed in the performance. I was thinking "I don't remember the car being this slow". I actually was started to regret my purchase.

That was until I noticed that I had accidentally turned off MDM mode! With full TC on, the car simply can't get any power to the ground as it keeps getting interrupted.

Once I turned on MDM, it was exactly how I remembered the test drive! I love the power (and how it is delivered), along with the copious amounts of luxury. It truly is a massive step up over my M4 (at least for my purposes).

I've got some quickie iPhone shots below, but have since added a rear diffuser already. I'll do a full paint correction and cQuartz application in the spring and will do a more complete set of photos then.

Thanks everyone for helping me make this decision.

Like most Individual colours, it really does need to be seen in person to be appreciated.

Do I think it is worthy of the $10K price tag? Not really.

But then again, I have yet to detail the car and see it in the sun. So I may change my opinion in a couple of months when the weather warms up.

Holy smokes,
Glad you went for that one, simply stunning and the interior is to die for.

Your absolutely right about the Mdm as well, goes hand in hand with the power
