Hardwire Ctek Battery Conditioner

Hiya

I've done some searching online but can't find a definitive answer how to hardwire a ctek battery conditioner.

I don't really drive my car much and wanted to keep the battery at its optimum charge.

Option 1 - install a m8 connector directly to the battery

Option 2- install a m8 connector under the bonnet/hood

Connectorhttp://www.ctek.com/gb/en/chargers/C...%20Eyelet%20M8

Has anyone done this before? My car will be outside and therefore would prefer actual charger to be in the car (if possible) away from the elements

Thanks in advance

i wired mine straight to the battery in the trunk. takes like 2 min. i can close the trunk with the wire coming out of it, but i leave the charger outside. if you needed to put the charger inside, the cord/plug part of the wire is alot thicker than the other part. i dont know how you're going to have the charger inside in the hood or trunk and still be able to close everything.

Putting the charger inside the trunk/hood and closing it would be dangerous and frankly quite stupid.

Also remember it is best with these cars not to wire the negative charger terminal to the negative battery post.
You should wire it to a negative post on the car body.

This prevents errors that can occur in electronic systems such as the electronic battery sensor (IBS)

Personally I dont hardwire my CTEK's.
I got their "crocodile" clamps and use the under hood terminals when charging.
Makes it easy to use one charger on multiple cars aswell.

Thx guys for your comments

I went and ordered one of these to hard wire and after speaking to a number of people looks like the bonnet option is the BMW approved route

Gonna be wiring it up tomorrow. Got two cars so will be moving the charger from one to the other from time to time
