Let the mods begin!

Greetings! New to this forum. Picked up one of the last new 2017 M6 coupes in the US about a month and half ago. Found it on west cost and had it shipped to Ohio. I previously came from a 2017 AMG C63s coupe - which got rear ended earlier this year ($35k in damage - just wasn't the same after it was repaired). Wife currently has an M4 and I still have have a 650i - so not new to BMW.

Day after the accident I checked into ordering a new M6 coupe - but to my dismay, production had just been discontinued the day before. But I couldn't do anything anyway as it ended up taking Mercedes 4 months to repair the AMG (muffler shortage ). With continued ccb brake problems on the AMG and body parts not aligning properly any more - I sold it and found this beauty! (pics attached)...

Already have the front end and rocker panels wrapped in Suntek and car is CQuartz coated. Blackvue 2ch dash-cam installed (I'll post a diy later). KW H.A.S. springs (just showed up yesterday! thanks to Golan at AutoTalent for great price!) and carbon fiber parts ordered and on the way too.

With Competition pack and the optional Performance exhaust - the exhaust note coming out the rear is still far lacking compared to the AMG - so down pipes might be on order soon too.

Let the mods begin!

nice! Enjoy in good health! A quick question, what month did you buy your car and how long did it take between you signing the paperwork and getting the car home?

Thanks! They had car in an enclosed carrier within three days of receiving the wired money. Car was shipped Oct 19th from the Bay area and arrived in southwest Ohio on the 25th.... but they wouldn't send title papers until after I took possession and signed/notarized a "Statement of Delivery Outside California" - took another 6 days to get title back... which sucked as I had to keep car in garage until it got delivered - lol (then I had to take it to an Ohio BMV to get titled for Ohio). Overall - took about 13 days before I could "legally" put it on the road.

hmm weird. Never knew dealership was willing ship car before signing of paperwork.

So I bought my M6 in Texas. I paid for it on Nov 10. As of today, it's still FUCKING SITTING THERE on the dealer lot.

Dealer took 2 whole weeks between payment and when the keys were legally mine (we moved paperwork after payment). And then Thanksgiving week comes and all the trucks are off the road...argh!

Good news is, I got my photocopies of my paperwork back, and they gave me a temporary Texas tag. So I can legally drive my car while I wait a month for my title.

I did sign papers (agreeing to price, terms etc..) prior to wiring the money. Just couldn't get the title until after I took possession.

So you have temp tags but no car yet? That dealer is taking way too long to deliver!

I guess dealers operate differently. Yeah, I got my temp tags already with my photocopies of the signed paperwork.

The shipping part isn't entirely the dealer's fault, it's the unfortunately reality of trying to get a car shipped during the holidays. Fingers crossed, I might be on a truck finally this Friday with Monday delivery. The dealer did however delay about 1.5 weeks between when I paid to sending me the paperwork. That's inexcusable as it caused me to push delivery to holidays.

Sorry to hear about the delay you're going thru - the week wait I went thru was grueling enough - lol ... Hope you get it soon! ... would make a nice chistmas gift to yourself though Post pics when it arrives.

An airplane will get you anywhere in the continental U.S. in less than 4 hours.... then a 24 to 48 hour drive home!!!

I hear ya, but I am crazy busy at work, pregnant wife and kid at home, and it's a 24 total road hours and 2k miles.

For me it would be a task to get it home rather than enjoyable road trip

Congrats! very nice to pick up the last round of production brand new.
AMG C63S is a good looking car on the outside. Interior is utter crap. You made a good choice!

Thanks! ... yeah - interior of the C63s felt and looked cheap. The display looked like an after thought (hey let's slap an ipad here!) lol. Love the M6 interior. Car overall just feels more solid and better built.
