Traded my '12 M6 Vert for '14 M6 Gran Coupe w/CP

Finally bit the bullet and couldn't resist the draw of the Gran Coupe. Been back and forth for a couple of weeks and then my local dealership took delivery of a Ruby Black Metallic w/Platinum/Black Full Merino Leather.

SOLD.

The color combination is simply amazing, but hard to capture with a camera, and I absolutely LOVE the 601M wheels.

Options include:
Competition Package
Driver Assistance Package
Executive Package
M Carbon Ceramic Brakes (Gold Calipers looks amazing with the Ruby Black)
Bang & Olufsen

Sorry for the quality of the quick pictures. I'll get out the Canon Mark III tomorrow to get some better shots.

On a separate note, the exhaust note is noticeably different than the stock system on the M6 I came from. Noticeably different.

More to follow...

I have a 2013 M6 vert and I am awaiting a M6 gran coupe with CP arriving in October. Does the competition package make the biggest difference or just the transition to the GC?

Beautiful Car!!!!

but the M6 isn't a lightweight sports car out to smash lap records... not sure very many people care the 601M aren't forged. It's all about style.

Trez.

The car feels very similar to the vert, however, I can absolutely feel the steering and suspension differences that come with the CP.

Not sure if you're getting the ceramic brakes but they too are amazing.

Not to thread jack, but I'm between the two cars (GC, and Convertible). I've got a great deal on a '13 vert that's hard to pass, but I want to get some real-world opinion on the convertible ownership experience.

Does your M6 GC have the iDrive 'Touch Pad' feature?

It does not. They don't expect them till sometime in Oct. According to the dealership.

I personally don't use the dial that much with my idrive so the touch feature was no big deal for me.

Thanks for the reply! My new car is optioned exactly like yours. I have the Eisenmann exhaust on my M6 vert. Is the competition package exhaust significantly different? And cabin drone?

The new exhaust is definitely different to my ears. My wife noticed it immediately too as I pulled out with her in the car the first time.

I'm still in break-in mode so I don't know what it sounds like at full throttle but I love it already. It was the one thing I hated about the '12 vert. You could never hear the exhaust.

No cabin done but you can hear and feel the difference in the cabin at low RPM's.

I LOVE my F12 convertible. Honestly, wouldn't have it any other way. The car looks ridiculously sleek with the top down. Nothing like pushing that pedal down and getting that rush of wind. Just a perfect car for cruising...AND hauling some serious butt.

It really comes down to what works best for you. I knew, when I purchased the vert, it was impractical for our needs. I'm 6'4" and my wife 6'0" and the back seats are useless to us. We could not use the vert when we went out as we need at least 2 more seats to transport people.

I did enjoy the convertible but not as much as the GC. You'll love either one.
