iPhone 4s in-car charging

Can anyone confirm that the above phone will charge when it's connected to the car's USB port?
Thanks.

Garage List
The manual, pg 151, says "do not use the USB interface to charge external devices." I don't know whether that includes an iPhone. (I have the adapter for mine.)

It charges my iPhone 5. I do not see any reason why it should not charge 4s...

Good point - thanks. However, it makes you wonder what the USB socket's there for - going by other replies, it would appear it does charge the phone, yet the manual says don't use it for charging. All a bit confusing - I'll discuss it with my dealer and let you know what he says.

Thanks for replying - interesting point 'BillCB' makes though. I wonder why the manual says don't use it for charging - it's not as if there's an option to prevent it doing so when it's plugged in.

Being of an equally cynical nature, I'm ashamed to admit the I didn't spot that for myself
Joking aside, you're probably right - if you're not supposed to use the USB socket for charging, but it automatically charges whatever you plug into it, what the f**k's it supposed to be for
