xDrive - spacers and/or lower springs?

Been reading on this and different forums about xdrive and lowering springs to "non-xdrive" height. Only one time came the suggestion to get spacers instead to kind of fill the gap by getting the wheels a little bit out.

I´m very happy with my M 351 19" and afraid of ruin anything by changing the ratio between sport/comfort.

Anybody tried spacers and with what result?

Anybody know of springs that will make it lower but minimal difference to original when it comes to sport/comfort?

Thanks for any advice

Spacers are purely cosmetic. No performance or ride changes. If you want to go springs go AC Schnitzer. They aren't the lowest, but are widely reported to be the best riding springs. H&R are bouncy.

Thank you!

For the spacers I´m looking just for the cosmetics, maybe I want to put the wheels a tiny bit out but we are talking about like 5mm or something...

Heard good stuff about ACS, good that they are not the lowest - I just want non-xdrive height and minimal change in comfort..

ACS springs are rebadged eibach springs. you can probably save some cash and just buy eibach.

yes they fit, if you look at ACS' catalog, they are the same part #"s for rwd and xdrive. for some reason other companies dont list it, but others have done it (h&r) and it works/fit fine.

yes ACS doesnt make their own suspension parts. their shocks are always made by sachs too. the drop and spring rates might be to ACS' specs, but they're 100% made by eibach. i bought an ACS cup kit before for another BMW i had, and it says eibach and sachs on all the stuff along with the ACS logos and boxes. eibach also makes ACS sway bars too. no tuner makes their own parts, every brabus, techart, acs, etc stuff ive ever bought for my cars was always rebranded stuff. REMUS makes ACS and Brabus exhausts as well. all these things ive bought for various cars ive owned and its all made by this company or another always rebadged.

ACS doesn't make them, but they have them made to their specs. They aren't rebranded eibachs.

my point is that they're eibach springs, the spring says something like ac schnitzer by eibach on them. they are rebranded eibachs, never said it was a rebranded prokit or sportline kit. whether they have different spring rates/drop than an eibach prokit or sportline kit is besides the point. they're both made by the same company, one spring kit cant be that much better or worse than the other in terms or quality or performance. and the ACS badged springs always retail for more than double the price. ive bought RUF coilovers for a 911 before, they were basically rebranded pss9's with a different color spring. driving wise, i couldnt really tell a difference to another car with regular pss9's.

Interesting! It is possible to buy the Eibach with the same specification as the "Eibach-ASC" direct from Eibach?

Rebranded means they are the exact same spring with a different label on them, which isn't the case - ACS springs are different than the ones eibach sells under their own name. The degree of difference isnt something they tell us, and it certainly doesn't justify doubling the price. With ACS you are paying for the name and a spring that goes low, but not so low that it significantly effects ride quality. H and R goes as low as possible regardless of the effect on ride, eibach is generally somewhere in the middle. You are also paying for specific spring rates for every model of car with ACS, whereas Eibach or H and R may be using the same spring for multiple models without regard for how it actually performs. H and R tries to serve every car made in the world - ACS serves a very discreet portion.

As with anything else, do what makes you happy.

Almost ceratinly not. Or Eibach wouldnt be making ACS springs any more.
