2017 M6 Gran Coupe

The order guide for the 2017 has been released, but I have found very little information on the details of the car (ie: what's different versus the current model year?). Any information out there?

Didn't 2016 just get released not long ago.

I doubt the 2017 order guide is out considering they wont go into production until July/August I believe?

Builds started in April of 2015. Production ended in February- so as long as no delays occur, they should hit start hitting state side by May

Is the M5 on a different build schedule from the M6?

Yeah/ theirs seems to make more sense. The F06/f1x seemed to have started in a mid cycle- it was weird.

Last year when I ordered my 16'- I had to wait literally 2 months of no progress, because there weren't any manuals available in January that were "leaseable (all 14s didn't have residual programs anymore, and there weren't any 15s with it) so my order was in since Feb just waiting. Then there was that huge carbon fiber shortage, so I didn't get my build started until May due to being a special order.

Bizarre timing, but hey- if you can find a 16- you can get a great deal on them now.

Sorry, you lost me

So are you saying the F10 M5 and F06 M6 GC are on the same schedule or are NOT?

I believe the 2016 F10 M5 will stop production sometime in July this year and there won't be any more since the F10 will be done. But I could be wrong

Sorry, sorry. They are NOT.

The 2017 f06 starts next month (all m6s do)

The f10 m5 will begin in the summer like you mentioned, but the f10 m5 has been around one year longer than the m6. I believe (I could be wrong) but the 2017 m5 will be the last year of its f10 model, before the GXX m5 remodel.

The m6 still has one more year after this one.

Thanks for clarifying!

I was under the impression that 2016 would be the last year for the F10 M5 but who knows!

Interesting they are not "giving away" F06 M6 GC at all. Only $5k from BMW Canada, the M5 also has $5k but with a 1.9% lease rate vs the M6s 2.9%, and the M5 can be leased for 48 months vs the M6 GC's 39 month max.

Thus making the M5 almost $1000 cheaper per month. They really rape you on the M6 GC here in Canada at least. I can justify a couple hundred a month for the M6 GC over the M5, but not $1000

Hope this helps

The 2017 order guide might not be available in Canada, but it was released in the US. I am looking at. Still not answered is the differences between the 2016 and 2017 model years.

Considering the 2016 model was the LCI (life cycle impulse) exterior will have none. If anything- it'll be very minor details in the interior.

The 17 gets the new 7 series idrive software. Not sure if it gets the touchscreen, but it will have the same menu interface.
