You have all the hardware to control it in your trunk area so down the line, if you decide you want to pick up an exhaustmeister, you can open the valves remotely. The tips just come off my twisting it and wiggling it out. When I first installed mine, I wanted a louder sound so I used wire to hold the valves open, which is common practice amongst M5 and M6 owners. It was a bit loud for everyday driving so now I only have the right side valve open and for me, it's perfect, especially with a baby in the back. As you can see in the pic, the muffler shop just welded on a mandrel bent enlarger pipe to connect the 2.5" pipe to the 3" M6 pipe. Next to Remus, these M6 mufflers have been my favorite for less than 1/2 the price of an aftermarket.
Can you post a video I wanna see how it sounds?

Bump this thread. Great material here.

I have a 650i and like the ability to retain the values that I have controlled by an Exhaustmeister system. I love the sound of my m performance mufflers but want the 4" quad tip look with the m6 valence and CF diffuser I bought.

I assume the only way to do this is get m6 mufflers and replace the tips with 4" ones.

Is there a big sound difference between the following
1) 650i M performance exhaust vs M6 non competition package
2)650i M performance exhaust vs M6 competition package
3) m6 non CP vs m6 CP

Thanks all!

Can't help on the sounds but I really hope you share your experience and pics when done. I am still trying to figure out a solution here. I am just doubting the ability to throw 4" tips on the M6 exhaust. I know others have done it but I would have to imagine the tips would be touching.

4" tips will work just fine with M6 mufflers. My muffler shop changed one of my outlet pipes to an S pipe (similar to Araithat) in order to prevent them from touching. I was also able to retain the actuator valves on mine
