Tire noise

I'm in the market for new tires for my M6 GC. Does anyone know which tire produce least road noise? Thanks!

Tirerack doesn't have the MPSS in a 305/30/20 so I thought they had been replaced, didn't know they just don't come in that size.

MPSS is available in 305/30/20 size. I had the tire installed on rear of my M6

It says special/closeout and most likely why they didn't come up when i did the search by size. Seems more likely the PS4 is replacing them if they're on closeout at TR

Michelin website say it's available however the MO version (Mercees Benz) is limited availability which is normal since these tires are being build periodically in a year... no indication of getting discontinued:

This article states the 6 year old MPSS is outgoing, and that the 4S is the newer better tire that replaces it. Why would you want the SS over the 4S?

doesn't seem like you care much about tire performance, so I would just go with an all-season tire then. DWS-06s (if they fit) comes to mind.

I'm trying to find an article but can't. I read that article couple weeks ago and I saw side by side comparison. MPSS had better performance on some areas but I'm not sure where... Anyways I agree with you that the newer is the better

That was the first one I pulled up when i searched MPSS vs MP4S. I am going to buy a new set soon and just wanted to get your opinion on which one was better since there are two options now from Michelin. Most likely I'll just go with the cheaper of the two when it's time to get out of those worthless Pirellis

Well I have no experience with new 4S but I had several MPSS in 295/30/20, 305/30,20, 265/35/20 and 275/35/20 size on my M6 and in my opinion they are great tires.

If you are in SoCal, go to this warehouse. It's located in Fullerton and you can get good price compare to any other shop:

MPSS is a bit pricey but has a good tread life.

Any rubbing issues with the 305/30/20 on stock rims?

I'm running that size in Pirelli right now and no rubbing at all, stock wheels and suspension.

Picking up my 650i soon. First thing is to get rid of the shitty run flats and put on PS4's. I haven't seen one bad review or anybody beating them in head to head comparisons.

I run both 265/35/20 and 275/35/20
With 305/30/20 on rear, you should have 275/35/20 on front to minimize the oversteering

Run flats are heavy and stiff but 650i is not coming with mobility kit so if you get flat tire, you will have hard time...
