How long does it take to get your pre-ordered M6 GC?

My plan is doing PCD my M6 GC in mid-January, but it seems unreal since the CA told me that they are still trying to find an allocation (the car is hot now).

I just want to know how long it takes you to get your M6 GC, from the beginning to the day you actual drive it home. (in the US, of course)

Thanks,

really? 6 months of waiting, that was insane. When did your vehicle go in production?

Went into production mid/late July. Ordering in April, I thought I was timing it so the car would be here in July/August timeframe and take advantage of "Pull-Ahead" program where BMW forgives up to 3 lease payments. My lease was up in October, so that would have timed up perfect.

Took so long to get a production slot (think they only build 1-2 per month or something), wait wound up closer to 6 months than the 3 I've waited for other models. Did a PDC delivery in South Carolina and wound up turning car in my lease same day as my M6GC pickup (Century BMW down the road).

You're very lucky, I'm still waiting for the allocation. It seems a hot car nowadays

That was so longgggg since you placed the order early. I wish I could order 2 or 3 months ago ...

I was told that there are only 36 allocations of M6 GC's for all of SoCal, for a market of this size, that explains why I had such trouble getting my car. I had to go to three dealers and they couldn't order it for me, so I ended up getting lucky and finding the car I wanted the day it arrived at the dealer I purchased from. They had 2 allocations, mine being one that the buyer backed out of. I have had mine since August, and still have not seen another one on the road here in SoCal.

36 cars is unbelievable small number for much a big market like SoCal . I'm thinking they build just 1-2 cars a month like Jalal28 said before.

I've thought of trying to find an existing car on the lot, but no luck. My ideal configuration is M6 GC with San Marino Blue + Piano Black + Canyon Brown + All packages including Competition Pkg and Ceramic Brakes. I've tried to look at all BMW dealers inventory in the US but haven't seen any M6 GC like that.

Ontario BMW (California) has had a Singapore Grey metallic/ Black interior, CP M6 GC on the showroom floor for a few weeks. I believe the trim was dark wood, not CF and the car had the standard M6 brakes.

Build of M6 Gran Coupes for the US market is at least 5 or 6 a day, if not more, based on the numbers I have.

I don't know why Singapore Grey is such a popular color on M6 GC. I've searched around 30 M dealers in the US and appx. 50% of the M6 GC-s are in Singapore Grey.

The color is stunning in person but unfortunately not what I want.

I think BMW didn't think there's such a high demand for M6 GC when they planned to launch the vehicle.

However, 5-6 GC a day is not bad, I think I have to be patient ...
