Who has upgraded from an M6 E63 to the F12 M6

Greetings;
Can anyone share their experience going for the V10 to the twin turbo M6-likes, dislikes, regrets, etc. I've one of the last 2010 V-10's out the door and would appreciate hearing any opinions!

Thanks,

Bill

I'm a different situation. I had an E60 M5, and just took delivery of an f13 m6 vert yesterday. I can't begin to tell you how much different the car is in a positive way. You need to test drive it to see. The technology is light years ahead, the drive train is composed and civil when you want it to be, but an axe murder when in "sport plus" and the appointments to the interior are beautifully executed (I opted for the full merino package). Do yourself a favor and test drive one. Unquestionably the best car I've ever driven, hands down. Do yourself a favor and just get one.

All that said, the sound of the S85 engine with catless exhaust and eisenmann race mufflers cannot be replaced. But this f-car is just so much better than the E generation cars, it's really immeasurable.

For what it's worth...

Thanks for the very complete report-it suonds as if you are delighted with the new one which is good to hear.
Surprisingly low number of people on the forums have updated at this point, or just won't talk about it.
Got one response here-yours, and one on the M5 forum.

Thanks again,
Bill

I still have my e63 m6 bought new in 2006 as well as having owned my F13 For a year now. It is simple, the F13 is six years advanced over the E63. That doesn't make the E63 bad in any way. The biggest difference is between the gearboxes. I am a great fan of Smg but dkg is so much better or at least more modern. E63 are great and by the way so much better than the e60 m5. I had one of them from 2005 til 2011 and it is not half the car the e63 m6 is. Just my twopenneth!

Hey Irish, I just recently upgraded from a fully modded E63 M6 coupe to a F13 CP SG/SO M6 coupe . My E63 was the fastest bolt on in the US to my knowledge with a best 60-130mph of 8.28 sec. The F13 M6 blows it away acceleration wise until at least a 100mph. The car just pulls like a freight train from 2k on and the DCT shifts are firm and instantaneous. I can not comment on above 100mph due to still being in my break in, but i would expect the new M6 to lose some ground over about 110-120 due to gearing and weight mostly. I can't wait to test it out and compare numbers. The amazing thing is the ability of the F13 chassis to put the power to the ground. It does this sooooo much better than my modded E63 , even with smaller tires! The new M e-diff is a big reason here and the MDM software is light years ahead. The suspension is way more planted with better control and less roll than my Stage 2 Dinan on my E63. It manages to be a more rigid chassis with no decrease in ride quality. Interior wise the new car wins hands down as well,and the B&O system is the best stocker i've heard. The only thing that I miss is the instant throttle response and the scream of the V10 opened up with SS headers and full akra exhaust. No regrets here, just wish I could have kept both!

I had a 2007 e63 and then a 2010 e64 full Dinan mods with 560hp, and now my 2013 f13. No comparison in design fit and finish the new f car kills the old e. As for drivetrain the Dinan built v10 was amazing and it hooked up even though i hated the fussy smg. The engine was a gem stuck in an old body with a mismatched trans. You will love everything from the seats and leather to the brakes on the new car. It gets 3-4mpg better gas mileage and is significantly stronger in torque. Yes we all mourn the na engine and mine had a 8400rpm redline but other than that no comparison. Feel free to message me and we can even talk.

I understand-if I do upgrade, that sound of the V10 will be sorely missed. I hardly listen to the radio I love it so much.
