They are black on my UK MSport GC as well. One big advantage of black is brake dust is atleast masked in that area Unfortunately I don't like the black alloys on black car look, otherwise I'd paint my alloys black aswell

Would have been better if I can get them to color match the liquid black

I had trouble putting all of these pics on 6post, so I posted them to a blog post. Here's the link: http://southern6er22.blogspot.com/20...-calipers.html

I found it interesting that my F13 650xi (12/2011 production) has black calipers, but a lot of earlier production F13s with M Sport have gray calipers (both 650i and 640i coupes). The first 650i convertible at my dealer also had gray calipers (arrived mid-Summer 2011).

What do y'all think?

Y'know what would be nice? A BMW decal sticker for the calipers.

I am sure they would be. Question is, do black chrome high-temperature caliper paint exist?

Thanks for the compilation. Photos illustrate the contrast between black calipers and gray/silver very well.

Andreo, Managed to take some photos with my wheels finally clean

With the brakes painted black, it does not stick out as much as a nuisance before

And yes The 356 Liquid Blacks do look fabulous on this car

Thanks! The black calipers look understated and elegant. Yes, the liquid black 356's are gorgeous. Nice choice.

Any thoughts on drilled rotors?

Certainly for show only. The roads here and my limited driving skill do not permit me to reach peak braking performance. Will look into slotted rotors as well when I get my calipers painted. Tks for the tip.

Ok thanks. Will do the same with my sources. I am going after the drilled AeroRotors. Let you know if I do find a retailer.

Yeah well. As I mentioned, not high on my to do list as the stock brakes work just fine on the F06. But maybe new Akebono brake pads.....

Noted mlai.

Does anyone else have any recommendations for an OEM brake disc/rotor swap?

I really like the look of the M6 OEM steel-aluminum compound rotors. Will I be able to simply swap out my OEM blank rotors with those drilled rotors? Any advice would be much appreciated.
