Front Drivers side window keeps rolling back down

Front Drivers side window keeps rolling back down after reaching half way closed on 1 touch up. Pinch protection issue? Car is tinted if that matters. All other windows work with no issues.

I noticed that mine will do that if the window is moving while turning off the ignition. Also if the door is open.

There is a reset procedure you can try - search google as I'm not sure if it is specific per BMW.

Mine's doing that. At the service center now, with that as one of several issues. For a car with only 16K miles, this thing has been in the shop a lot, even accounting for all the times they keep screwing up my driver's seat (which I count as a service issue, not a car quality issue).

I had the pinch protection issue on several BMWs. Each time it has been friction from the weather stripping. I leave my windows down a lot and evidently the weather stripping can change shape a bit. I had this problem with my sun roof on my 6. Holding the button overrides the pinch protection. Have you tried that with a 6 window?

Holding the button up keeps it from rolling itself back down, but you have to release it and then lift it again. And sometimes it still goes back down by itself.

Having to hold the button kind of reduces the usefulness of auto up, I'd say.

Once I got mine closed, it squashed the weather stripping back in to shape and fixed it. Anything else probably needs dealer attention.

try rolling it down with one touch. then after it stops, push the button down and hold it for about 5~10 seconds. you may notice the wind going a bit further down. then try one touch up. this process might reset it.
