Rear facing infant car seats
Dear all,
I am leaning towards 650i coupe and I was wondering if one can fit 2 rear facing infant car seats (I have 7 month old twins). Thanks, |

Go for the Gran Coupe...
It's a BIG hassle getting the babies in and out of a two door. The Gran Coupe is perfect. I have two rear facing seats without problem. /c |

There was a guy who bought a 6er coupe in early 2012 who sold it for a W12 Bentley Continental about 6 months later because he couldn't fit two seats. I think his wife pushed him toward losing the 6 Series, and now he's sadly suffering with that horrible excuse of a car.

aaarrrrrr......I really want a 2 door coupe.
I test drove 911 as it was my 1st preference but there is no way infant seats would fit (only toddler seats fit in) and kids won't like the sound of loud engine in 911 so I thought 6 would be a good compromise. Thanks guys! |

Get a F06, and a 911 You will not want kids (or practically any living thing) in the back seat of F12/F13 on a daily basis.......
I have the F06 and a E93 M3 and my 2 little girls fit in both (in the back) comfortably.......

If you want performance, a nice interior, and enough practicality to hold the kids, I think you have 3 options:
1) An $80k F80 M3, which might not have the glorious growl of the outgoing M3 but will be fitted with a nicer interior. 2) A $105k 650i GC. 3) A $200k+ Bentley. This would be my choice, but I'd have to rob a few banks first.

Thanks to Claus for your tip. I also bought the Cybex seat that rotates 360 deg. Little guy seems to like it, and it's much easier getting in and out with this kind of seat. Love the car (640d) and will post more pics when I'll have more time.

Thanks for sharing the picture mate. will the baby seat press against the back of the front passenger seat causing a permanent scar after you swung it back to front facing? thanks again and enjoy!

Hoping to resuscitate this thread again. I have a two year old, and will soon have a newborn. Looking to add a four door to my fleet. Would the Gran Coupe be a viable option, or will it be too cramped?

The GC is plenty roomy in the rear. A touch light on headroom in the rear for the 6 foot plus crowd, but there is plenty of legroom unless you put the front seats way back.

Rear facing seats are not a problem for the gc, your issue is more in the seat for the 4 year old. The gc has permanent head rests on the rear seats which can make fitment of forward facing seats problematic. I've got the cybex for the toddler and some cheap Brittax car seat which for some reason fits better than other expensive maxi cossi seats.

I have a toddler/full-back booster w/harness (Graco) and a rear-facing infant seat with no problems. I actually have the rear-facing seat in the middle position so that I can recline my driver seat.

For max comfort in the front seats, you're best bet is going to be Cybex Aton for the rear facing infant seat. If you have 2, you can put a Diono Radian RXT rear facing for the other seat.
I have the Cybex on the middle hump + the Diono on the rear passenger side and it's comfortable. It gives me the opportunity to have up to 3 adults in the car and still be comfortable. |
