Thanks, maybe one day try out 10mm spacers all around just to see how it looks. Is your car lowered?

I won't lower if at all till much further down the road, I have been weight reducing (287 lbs so far), and until that gets too expensive to do won't change the springs. Spring time will probably bring the Akrapovic and CC breaks, that's about 80 lbs or so right there, half of it unsprung. The Akra is actually louder than what I'd like, but we'll see. Generally not going for any specific look, more about how it drives for me. I did compromise on the wheels a bit, really like the more traditional/conservative look of the 55's, almost went with VS10's to save some more weight. Car is very well built, you can see how they tried to keep the weight down, even on such a heavy car. |

By replacing steel and aluminum parts with lighter aluminum, CFRP and/or titanium. Lot's of titanium bolts is the major expense right now. I have a mechanic/machine shop and we've been searching realoem for likely parts, then you order a replacement part (for mold/measurement/3d scan) and then you attempt to machine/produce something lighter that's within spec.
I did remove the active seat's mechanism (plates and bladders), saved some weight but was more for comfort. |
