Speaking from New Yorkers experience....
BMW in NYC, regardless of the model, is just another car on the road, so is the S class. To get attention you need something like an R8, not that the crowd would know what it is, but it just looks exotic unlike the bland design of the Nissan's Godzilla. Maybe a Porsche, but it better be yellow and definitely not Panamera or Cayenne. You get more return on investment by getting a Shih-Tzu puppy and taking it for a walk in central park.

Seriously? Do you really care what some stranger says about your car? If you like it that's what really matter. I understand there some innate feelings of acceptance in all humans but seriously, who really gives a crap what someone thinks about your car?

This post is hilarious! I'm a female and Korean. That Asian girl with the Genesis coup comment is stupid. She must be a FOB to compare the 2 cars. Most girls might not comment to your face but they can spot the difference between a $50k bimmer and a $100k one from a mile away. This car is GORGEOUS! I have a 335 now and just ordered a 640 grand coupe. I was waiting for the new M3 but chose the grand coupe purely for looks. Yes, such a typical girl thing to do.

My experience is somewhat different - a lot of young men seem to notice immediately and stare! A lot of 5 series drivers look and look again from the corner of their eyes - very jealous! Women don't seem to notice really except for the size!

Allright, this may seem a little off topic here, what with all the talk about women
But it is still a car forum, so. Can you please post some pics of the carbon black car? I'd like to see how its different from the sapphire black. Thanks!

a few weeks ago, I tried uploading pics of my bike in the OT section, but I had to resize the images so much that they just looked horrible by time I was finally able to post the pics! I hope you have more success putting pictures up than I did...

Here are a few of my Carbon Black in a couple different lights. The car goes from black-black to metallic, dark blue changing from shaded to direct light reflecting off the car (most pronounced at night).
Check out my YouTube channel and blog for a lot more pics. The blog has links to many of my early posts that are filled with pictures. Links to the blog and channel are in my signature.

In the UK, I have had several men admire my 6 GC whilst it has been parked, many doing the obligatory walk around and looking again at the badge on the bootlid. I also get a fair bit of quite envious 5 Series owners who must be wondering why exactly you get can buy two 520d BMWs for the cost of one well equipped 6GC. Can't say I have noticed any women admire the 6GC in my area.

Hmm.. I think NA is a little bit different from where I live Over here no one simply give a sh*t no matter what you're driving. Well, maybe if you came in a chromed Veyron everyone would look but everyone is way to reserved to actually comment on your car.
Drove a Gallardo last summer and two girls showed up on a parking lot and gave me the bad eye. Probably why Volvos are the most common cars by the Swedish upper class, no one wants to "show off". Haha, that Hyundai fanboy. |

I have had several people (male and female) say the car is one of the best looking 4 doors they have ever seen. And two of them work for car dealerships. Much, much less 650 gran coupes driving around than other 4 doors so car does have some exclusiveness.
