To wrap or not to wrap, and if so...colours?

Hi guys

As the title says really?

the previous owner of my car got parts of the car wrapped clear for protection. it covers the nose, front bumper, wheel arches etc.

I got lazy and took the car to a hand wash and they damaged part of the wrap, its now bubbled and needs removing.

i know a guy who does pretty good wrapping and he said it would be easy to remove. While he's at it do i want to just wrap the whole thing?

i am sick of being paranoid about trying to keep the paintwork in perfect condition so I thought about a full clear wrap because i really like the black, although thats more expensive than getting a colour wrap I've been told?

considering matt/satin black...what are your thoughts?

Xpel clear wrap will cost between 5-6k here in LA, so I would assume it would cost close to 10k there in the UK.
I would suggest going with a full satin black by 3M. It adds a layer of protection from the elements and never gets swirl marks.

Is there any difference between 3M and say Avery Dennison for wraps?

I'm still leaning towards satin black but i don't wanna get bored of it in 6 months. This is why I'm not prepared to do any crazy adventurous colours.

My guy told me that 3M is more durable and recommended, but then a specialist buddy of his who works only on Avery vinyl said that it just takes more skill to get Avery wraps done properly. Just google 3M vs Avery

Since I will be getting a new car soon I was contemplating similar question. To PPF or not to PPF. I have examined my last 2 cars for stone chips, scratches etc... There were not that many. Had I PPF on it... they would be avoided. But it was nothing major.

Proper PPF costs a small fortune (was quoted close to 5K EUR) and to be honest I do not believe it will improve the resale value of a regular (non exotic) car. If anything you are doing a big favour the next owner but with your money.

So I have decided not to PPF.
