Found my next car!

Wasn't sure where to go after the GC, but now it's clear.
I think this is what I've been waiting for. I hate the exterior of the outgoing Panamera.
Here's a link showing a nice comparison of the old and new.

No this car is not available in the showroom until end of the year. Probably looking to get it sometime next year. I may even just keep the GC if I can afford to.

Personally, I feel the (and especially yours) current M6 GC has more road presence. There is nothing else that compares. The RS7 comes in a strong 2nd place, but the body lines of the GC are perfect.

agreed. if i won the lottery, i could only upgrade from a 650 to an M6. when the coupe came out, i literally didn't even notice. when i saw the GC, suddenly it was the car that i couldn't afford but had to have.

the audi 7 is pimp but the butt is just a bit too funky compared that 6 ass

Great link. To me the biggest change is the fixed rear side window was brought to the belt line eliminating the awkward giant c-pillar. Along with the slightly lifted butt and 911 tails this car has totally transformed. I think similar treatment on the RS7 would help its cause.

I love the new Panamera. I thought about the same, however, turbo or turbo S would be the only one I'd consider to match or better the performance of the M6. But, and the big but is, the price point of the turbo and turbo S models. I'm sure the price will be astronomical on those.

The excessive torque steer and plastics all of the dash and door cards ruin the RS6 for me. In addition the 8 speed auto isn't as good as a twin clutch and the Audi is very front heavy which means it doesn't feel like it enjoys changing direction. Definitely a downgrade unless you need a wagon, the E63 should be coming out in October I think although it might take a while before you can actually order one.

True.
RS6 has too much plastics. No doubt. At the same time RS-Design Alcantara interior has a very nice feel. Obviously nowhere close to my M6GCCP where everything was covered in leather. Audi is less refined but more practical.
8-speed auto is very smooth and for my driving good enough. Obviously not as good as MDCT but I wouldnt miss it. I do not take my cars to the track.

My issue with M6GCCP was that it is a great car at speeds I hardly ever travel at. This thing loves being pushed way above 150kmh when it starts to sing. At lower speeds it simply struggles for traction.

When it comes to MB let me just say that for the past 3 years I have been driving a 2013 MB GL which is a complete disaster. This thing is being serviced every 2 months or so. There is constantly somethig wrong with it. From leaking sunroof to every possible electronics malfunction. I have 110 000km on the clock and already going thru the 6th set of break discs.. and this is my family hauler. For this very reason it will be some time before I get another MB.

Nothing perfect out there...unfortunately.

650iX? Gives you 4wd and the nice dash, although of course not as much power and you get the 8 speed auto again.

Interesting about the GL, I had thought Mercedes had their reliability issues well sorted by now. What model was it - I'd imagine the GL63 would be hard on brakes.

I am in the same boat, my M6GC is up for lease at the end of the year. I was interested in the new 7 initially but now leaning towards the new Panamera Turbo.

Could have been a one off lemon ... we have had 2 S63 AMGs, the new GLS 63 AMG, a GLK 250, and an S450 4matic .... our first S63 AMG kept miss-firing cylinder block 8 under heavy loads ... 8 trips to the dealer and free service (read tune up, new spark plugs and new engine management software under warranty) ... by year three we swapped it for the current generation S63 ... no issues since.

All other Mercedes cars we have had ... other than a faulty parktronic sensor, not an issue.

Have had 3 BMWs now as well ... no issues, however friends with the X5 diesel (current generation) have had electrical issues like no-ones' business.

So a one off there as well

Luck of the draw ... horrible luck!

To better reliability!

Coming back to subject....

Interior of the new Panamera looks great to me..... air vents are slightly overengineered tho.
