Extended warranty options
My 2013 warranty expires 10/16 looking at options/thoughts.
USAA wants 7k for 4 years/100k miles Last year I was quoted $5,400 for 2/75 platinum from BMW I have 38k miles, drive 14k a year, its a daily. Will own no more than 2 more years. Any other options? Go bare instead?

I think it depends on the history of your car. Some cars are lemons and some cars are diamonds. If you feel closer to the lemon, then I would get extended warranty. If you feel like yours is a rare gem that will only need minor maintenance, just go bare.
I bought my 2005 E46 M3 brand new in 2005 and kept it for 7.5 years. It was a diamond with not a single issue I can describe. Warranty expired and I never bothered to extend it for 3K at the time and no maintenance has cost close to that. |

I am second owner but based on cars service history to day one, only one warranty claim, replace coolant lines.
She does like oil though, roughly every 700 miles

Adding oil every 700 miles is not normal. Unless you are flooring your car at every opportunity possible. Even then, i think adding oil every 700 is suspect. I would have it looked at.

I drive my car pretty hard/fun and regularly get the rear end out and hit the speed limiter. I've never needed to add oil... I just did an 8,000 mile road trip, didn't need to add oil. So yeah, that sounds wrong to me...

Adding oil every 700 miles is not normal. I agree but dealer says BMW told them that is okay.
Unless you are flooring your car at every opportunity possible. I don't but my service rep actually told me to drive harder.
