Ive seen a couple of times where those show the tires as fine but at high speed there are still problems.
Swapping out the tires fixed this each time. A quick drive on another set would quickly show if its this or something else. A very easy and quick test, unlike to check some of the other possible problems like the driveshaft.

This.
First thing to do when you get a vibration through the wheel at a steady speed is to get the wheels and tyres road force balanced. It's relatively cheap and can show up a problem that's otherwise very hard to find. |

we have done that numerous times, still not fixed it. Dealer is going to swap the front 2 wheels off a loaner M6.

Even better than that actually, the HQ sent over a brand new 16 plate M6 to loan the wheels for a test drive overnight.
with all 4 wheels swapped over the problem still persists. Now I can only think of taking legal action as I am seriously F'd off. |

Can I ask have BMW UK been involved? I assume so. Have BMW M been involved? If not ask U.K. To contact them and failing that ring yourself. I am sure this was a common fault with early cars and that there is an upgrade to resolve it. Many of the things mentioned are included but I am not sure everything has been done to your car. Spacers and lowered springs certainly will not help and until you start with the car in standard trim I don't think you will get far. You should keep at it though u have a great car and your owning experience is being spoiled. Sorry if you have tried all this. Cheers.

What were the tire pressures on the new wheels? Did they check their balance? You see where I am going with this. Just because something is new, it does not mean it would be perfect. If you drove the car only up to 85 mph, the vibration would not even show up. Maybe the new 2016 vibrates too above 95 mph. You would not know unless you did the same speed in the 2016. Now if the 2016 is smooth at the same speed as your car when they swap tires, then you know it is your car. Like I said earlier in the thread. 33-37psi on my car and I get vibes 95-100, If I go 38-40psi I don't. But ride is a little harsher.

Hi Guys
Yes BMW HQ is directly involved via myself and the dealer, they are doing everything they can and after changing all the bushges, lower suspension arms, tried brand new 4 wheels off another car they are just stuck at this stage clueless what do to next. Steering rack is also what I thought, but wouldn't the vibration kick in through out not rusty over 100 mph if it was a faulty rack? I am also going to reverse my springs to factory because I have a technical director from BMW coming over on 24th. |

Another question, does the car have carbon ceramic brakes?
By the way I would still contact M as you are always going to be up against the "over 70 mph" problem in the U.K. You need to be playing the "this car is dangerous at 150 mph on the autobahn " card. Plus as I keep saying this is a problem they know all about. One other thing I won't explain because people will think it ridiculous but could you check the oil and let us know if it is correct ? If it isn't I will explain! Cheers |

hi
what about the oil? my car is also suffering from extreme oil consumption, averaging 250-350 miles top up. just filled another litre at 280 miles which is ridiculous. The local dealer has recently changed rocker cover breathers on it. |

My 2012 car, one of the first had the Ccb fitted retrospectively by BMW and again a shed load of parts were changed including the servo. I must say the brakes are perfect, no noise at all but it was no simple job.
Forget the oil thing it's just that twice in my BMW history I have had problems with cars due to being overfilled with oil, you seem to have the opposite problem. My car has done 22,000 miles and has used 5 litres of oil between services Cheers |

There is no BMW M in the uk you need M in Garching, Munich. I am sorry I am away at the moment so don't have a number handy. It will be on a website somewhere though. Talk it through with the uk bigwig and try and do it with his consent and his help.
I am not a technical person so I would not lay blame on any one part but it's got to be something! Just trying to help! |

last night happen to take the car out to test drive and beforehand I pulled over to check on the tire pressures allround. To my surprise all 4 tires were reading between 15-25 PSI. I topped them all up to around 38, went above the desired speed and NO vibration whatsoever And here we are pulling all hair follicles out, almost stripped the car down but failed to check the Tire pressure. |

So when BMW fitted tyres from another brand new M6 all four were also underinflated to that magnitude ?
Do you ever check your tyre pressure monitor ? Anyway, hope this is resolved now!! Enjoy !
