M6 Gran Coupe Launch Edition - Pure Metal Silver
I am looking at a pre owned 2014 M6 GC, apparently it is the Launch Edition for Canada and only 20 were built? The exterior is Pure Silver Metal and the interior is two tone, silverstone/black with contrast stitching. The car comes fully jammed with every option, including B&O and CC brakes.
I was able to find some info online, apparently it was released in Spring 2013, but the vehicle I am looking at has an in service date of May 2014, which is a year after these cars were apparently released. Not sure the story behind that yet. This car only has 16000km (10000 miles). I know that pure silver metal is a pretty exclusive color and Im not much of a silver fan but this color does look special to me. Here are a few pics I thought I would share. I am cross shopping this with a brand new 2016 M5 with Ultimate Package (which includes Comp Pack, B&O, Premium, Full leather and even has the M Performance Exhaust). Any suggestions/comments/feedback is appreciated! Having a hard time deciding between this used 2014 M6 vs the brand new M5. I definitely like the M6 more, but I truly appreciate and prefer a brand new car vs a used one, even if only slightly used like this M6. Unfortunately, a brand new M6 is out of the question at the moment!

I agreed that silver is in fact a bit plain, after all it's silver but this color really is special. I would say it's everything but plain. Just watch this and you will appreciate the color I'm sure.

Even though the M5 is new, this is the last year of production for that model. It is going to depreciate fast and really doesn't have much new tech compared to this 2014 M6.
I don't know what the price is, but if this M6 is priced right, I would take it. |

What would be the right price?
I will have to convert because here in Canada prices are very different. Usually more for everything like a brand new M6 MSRP starts @130k, this car (brand new) was about $160k-165k with all the options here in Canada. What would this car cost brand new in the US? and what would it be worth now with approx 10 000 miles, and 2 years left of original warranty.

But in the U.S. people were getting more than $20k off on brand new 2014's a year ago. Now we are seeing asking prices on low mileage 14's in the $78,000 range, with negotiation, you can get them for a good amount less. These are cars that had an msrp of around $140,000. |

Thanks for the info! That's what concerns me...these things drop worse than any car Ive ever seen! The problem is BMW overpriced the M6 GC in my opinion, and they're simply not worth what 20-30k more than an M5 and the used market confirms that. The dealer is asking $110k for this car. I can get it down to $100k, but they don't seem to want to go below that. This is a big concern only because I don't keep my cars long, I plan to keep it for 1 or 2 years at most, and I don't want to take a huge hit when I decide to sell or trade it in.

My concern is paying $100k for it now and it being worth 70-75k next year this time when i decide to sell it. if its worth 85-90, I would be good with it. but who knows right? thats a chance I have to decide if I am willing to take.

Since you like changing cars every 2 years, see if you can hang on until the 2017s are out, you can just lease it if it's still around. BMW Canada gives great lease rates for pre-owned, but the 2014s are still too new

I actually like the interior but not special silver still looks a bit plain IMO but if I had to pick silver that one would do just fine. Interior is a PLUS imo - I'm assuming it's Full leather?

I saw this color in person and I think it looks amazing....
Interior is nice too but it might be difficult to maintain. It has an older iDrive knob without the touchpad but it is not a big deal right. If the price is good I would not hesitate. I am sure you will enjoy it. |
